    Pretty much stock right now
I just did PowerStop Evolution ceramic pads with drilled and slotted rotors. After proper break in, they are amazing. Maybe not the cheapest setup, but the stopping power is worth the price. I liked them so much I did all four corners on my Honda. Rock Auto had the best deal.

Just to piggy back on what others are saying, my truck is far from stock. I just swapped in my 231 Tundra calipers and man... It's got that new car, touchy brake feel. I also have rear disc brakes on my fj80 axle. It's brings my 35s to a halt with ease. I bought my calipers off eBay. I did a little searching and found a pare with less than 100k on them. Then I bought new pads and rotors from Toyota. I bought the brake line kit from wheelers, although I just used the banjo bolt and kept the stock rubber lines.

The Tundra brake swap sounds like a solid upgrade but this will not work with the factory aluminum 16" wheels correct? What are some recommended pad and rotor options other than OEM for stock wheel applications? EBC seems to get a fair amount of exposure...

What backspacing do you have on your rims? Don't you have to achieve a certain amount of backspacing for the tundra brake swap to work? What is the minimum backspacing required? I have Method Double standards on my 04 Tacoma DCSB 4x4 and they have 4.5" of backspacing

I have the type B Wheeler's rims and they have 4" of backspacing. Not sure what else fits in terms of aftermarket rims but the stock 16" wheels from 2001-on should work with S13WL calipers.

Always check rotor thickness when doing a puck slap, you don't want to be the one with your pic in the wtf thread or funny thread because your rotors are non existent.

That was all about 4Runners but I assume the equipment is the same on our trucks as the 4Runners and tundra brake parts are adaptable to our 01-04 Tacomas as it was to those 4Runners?

Yes it is the same. There is a company LCE Performance who makes a kit. It has everything you need to do a Tacoma to Tundra Swap if you don't feel comfortable finding the pieces on your own.
I got calipers from Napa (13WL 230 MM.)
& ordered EBC Rotors and Pads ( Stage 3 Kit I think they call it) thru Amazon.
When I get it all installed I'll update in my build thread and here .....if it works!:fingerscrossed:

Why are you doing it? Do you haul a lot of stuff? Or just feel like your current brake set up is inadequate?

I did the 231mm tundra upgrade to my taco and the 199mm tundra upgrade to my 2000 4runner. BIG improvement over stock on both trucks. I have a 199mm tundra kit sitting at work to install on my wife's 02 4runner. The stock 16" tacoma wheels do clear the 231mm calipers.

I don't think the factory set up will be enough for my build. I have a lot to add. Bed cage, sliders, bumpers, skid plates etc.
Plus I'm putting on the Camburg LT kit:yes:, so I figured while I'm tearing into that might as well upgrade the brakes while I'm at it

Really? The 3rd gen (1996-2002) Limited 4runners come with the 199mm tundra brakes, are you sure about that? I thought that the bigger bodied 4th gen 4runners came with them, not the 3rd gens.

My 97 limited had 13ws calipers on them, and if you go to a parts store online store, you will see that there are two different calipers offered. Limited came with 16" wheels.

My 2000 SR5 4x4 and my 2002 SR5 4x4 both came stock with 16's. Neither are Limited. Are you sure that the 13ws calipers are the 199mm's?

    13we &13wl are the tundra/sequoia calipers. I'm not sure about the 13ws.

Sorry, I ment s13wm, or something like that. The 13wl is the 231 I think. Only the limited 4runners had 199 calipers. In 00ish they all got 16" wheels.
