    I looked at my rear brakes and they look about the same as the new ones I got to replace them. My front ones was bad but I got 85,000 miles on the truck. I think that's good for stock brakes

    yup the rears dont wear much at all.

    replaced the shoes on my dads 04 taco with @ 220k, just cus we were there cleaning n adjusting everything.

    I find that on average the rears need replacement once for every two on the front disc. I usually get a bit more than 100K miles on the front disc brake pads.

    My experience anyway. I guess if you ride the brakes or tow heavy loads you would have a different experience.
