i bought some LED lights that I plan to mount under my rear bumper and connect to my backup lights. In the summer, phase II will be putting an override switch in the dash but that means running a wire from the dash to the rear. I already purchased a nice OEM looking dash switch that's on a slow boat from China ..... literally!

What I want to do, and I'd hoped that someone has already unplugged the rear harness, is to disconnect the harness, strip back the plastic flex, tap into the 12v hot to be switched by a relay, and tap the reverse pin to fire the relay. Does anyone know how to unplug the harness connector? Does anyone know the color code for a 2014? I looked at it and I do not see a piece to push to allow me to pull the connector out. I want to be tapped into the correct side of the connector so that if the bumper is ever pulled, it will disconnect as intended.

I purchased (2) 15 watt LEDs and I'm assuming that adding an extra 1.25 Amps per side or 2.5 amps to one side of the backup bulb wiring would not be the way to go? Opinions?

No problem on adding amps to bulbs but wattage won't hurt.LEDS use a lot less amps...You will be fine..

I've had these installed for a few weeks and I love them. They light up the front of my neighbors house across the street when i back out!
