    Be patient with 4lo as well. Make sure the light is not blinking and plan ahead so you can engage before your in a situation that loads the drive line. I have a first gen that has a manual j lever.... and it is definitely easier and more reliable getting it in and out of 4wd.

    Truth. In an AWD vehicle, you can have one wheel, on any corner, lose traction and be stuck. In a 4WD vehicle one front wheel and one back wheel are always receiving power, so you need two wheels to lose traction to be stuck. Much better off road.
