Yeah. As much as possible, I don't really want to have to bring this in for a fix as that might open up a can of worms. I'm more curious to know what the cause is. Could just be some variance from assembly depending on how it's bolted up to the flexy frame; or perhaps the bed, being composite, has variance - but would be interesting to understand.

To be honest, looking at the pics posted I see it, but I would never have noticed otherwise.

That's good to hear. At least there's consistency there!

Yeah. It varied. The two extended cabs at the lot didn't show it though, so that was surprising. Hence, I specifically called out 5 foot cab in my original post.
I too had 5 miles on the car when I purchased.

Tacoma is a great truck but fitment leaves quite a bit to be desired. Many people who share the same year also share the same out of whack panels. Seems like the QC was missing in action. I have the unlevel hood and the misaligned rear bumper of the 2018s. It's great.

No money, all went to truck...
    Maybe the window is crooked?

gas tank weight? is it parked on completely flat surface? Its so small, I wouldn't even worry about it.

Hearing all the comments about fitment issues, that probably adds to it as well. But I did compare the tailgate level against the side mirrors and it's still present.

Speaking of this, we just got TRD off road and it has misaligned interior boards. Almost like " its end of the year, fk it, lets just rush it "

If you think it's a car, that might be part of your problem.

Ha. You're probably right there. With the newly redesigned truck coming out soon, they're probably focusing on that more than anything else.

The Trail Edition has the small lift (aka babylift) of 1” front, ½” rear.

Off-Roads are not lifted unless you opt for the dealer-installed TRD lift kit.
That kit can be added to most configurations though, not just the OR. It provides a 2” lift at the front and 1” at the rear.

yeah I cant see if mine is crooked at all I spent some good time looking at it yesterday. That Factory trifold bed cover does make it hard to see. All four wheel wells to the ground are same distance left to right. Good enough for me. Even if it WAS uneven I doubt Id want shims to level the bed.

Yeah. You may have gotten one of the ones that have very minimal or no alignment issue.

Pay almost 50k for a midsize truck... Are decent body gaps too much to ask for lol!

My 2nd gen body gaps were all almost perfect. My 3rd gen looks like Helen Keller assembled it on a Friday after a few beers.
