So unfortunately my 2017 never was quite right after being in a accident I purchased a brand new 2023. So far loving it. They’ve done a lot of neat things in 6 years!

    So new to me:
    Better entertainment system
    Carplay
    Adaptive cruise
    Collision Warning
    Bed lighting kit
10 way adjustable drivers seat (don’t ask me to name to 10 ways!)
I like the folding soft cover, for now.
Jury is out on the running boards. I kinda like them being sacrificial to shopping carts and others.
Still discovering stuff. I haven’t had a true day off since I picked it up so I still need to dig in.

This reminds me of alice in wonderland story , so much adventure lol
Carplay is standard but unfortunately not wireless unless you buy modify it a lil bit.Adaptive cruise is lame , its not the cruise control you remember it being.Collision warning will scare the shit out of you the first time after that its pretty useful.Bed lights kit is useful actually i would dig it.You might not need the running boards but someone on the shorter side might appreciate them etc etc

I had wireless CarPlay in my previous vehicle and now I have wired CarPlay in my 2023 Tacoma. I have found that I prefer the wired version. My wireless CarPlay would often grab the phone automatically when I didn’t want it to for whatever reason. And I find myself plugging my phone in to charge it every drive anyway. I don’t use the wireless charger because I keep my debit card a new license on the back of my phone and it won’t charge through that
And I love the adaptive cruise control. I make a 3 hour drive on the highway twice a week for work and I’d say I’m using that adaptive cruise control for about 90% of it. Every now and then it slows down more aggressively than I would have. Usually I just let it roll with that and let it accelerate on its own after I change lanes, but every now and then it bugs me and so I just tap the button and turn it off for a few seconds before I reengage in the other lane. All in all, I’m a big fan of it.

My 2023 TRD is also my first vehicle to have carplay. Discovered it will run OnxHunt or Onx Off-road on the main infotainment screen. Going to be super useful for me.

I debated the wireless vs wired and ended up buying Carlinkit adapter, which I’m not in love with but it works. I did like the phone always being charged when it was plugged in.

I kinda like the adaptive cruise control, I don’t like the fact you have to readjust the distance setting every time, but other than that, because of working nights I tend to drive in light traffic on the highway so it works well. I also don’t dig the fact that it pops up on the dash every time it sees a new car. If it’s gonna do that I want it to yell “CONTACT! DEAD AHEAD!!” In Jonesy’s voice from The Hunt For Red October…. The collision warning already got me, but it was legit. The bed light are gamechangers for me, living life in the dark working nights.

What unresolved issues did you have after the accident with your 2017? Yes, I love all the features on my 2020. From the power drivers side seat to the adaptive cruse control. We came from a 2003 Pathfinder. The learning cure was a little steep at first. But now that I understand most of the features and know how to use them, I’ve come to appreciate them.

Well it took three tries to get the rear window right to start! I took a hard t-bone hit to the driver’s side right where the cab meets the bed. Issues with door seal with repeated attempts, the fender flair adhesive and a new bed rattle that I couldn’t trace out. It was reasonably new with low mileage so I decided to swap it out before any of the issues with the repair reared their ugly head and cut into resale value.

OP my OEM soft tonneau is awesome, I hope you keep yours. As near waterproof as you should need for the bed, and it’s lightweight. That’s good cause these trucks can’t handle a lot of payload. It’s something to keep in mind! Enjoy!
