Have you tried to call Toyota corporate and plead your case ? 3 weeks in and no clear path out in sight! Worse thing that can happen is they say no and you’re on your own. Who knows you’ll get lucky and they’ll exchange it for another one granting it’s only been driven less than 100 miles .

I haven’t yet. I was waiting till yesterday to hear from the dealer and that did not happen so I’m gonna start pulling out all the stops.
I don’t want a new truck at this point. Just my money back. We’ll see what happens

What was the issue you ended up having? My truck is getting fixed under warranty but they don’t seem to actually be fixing the problem.

Sounds like the dealer service dept is lacking in diagnostics expertise. What were the 4 codes?

Does the truck have any dealer-installed alarms, remote start, tracker, etc.?

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think any dealership has great diagnostics. Not to put anyone down that works at a dealer. Truck is totally stock. No add ons besides the factory command start, the typical stupid connectivity stuff that comes with all these new vehicles.

service manager has not shared the codes with me, he did tell me in text that they were getting a misfire on cylinder 3 after changing injectors on other cylinders. Apparently every time they run into a new issue they have to relay the data to an engineer which then provides them with a path to proceed. Seems odd to me as a tradesman I typically have to fix engineered mistakes and I don’t typically call them to ask how to proceed. But I guess that’s warranty work as toyota is footing the repair bill.

More than one problem and 3 weeks+ downtime in the first 100 miles is bad ju-ju. I'm a Toyota fan but I'd be looking to exit that rig. Good luck OP.

Defiantly get corporate involved, this very well may highlight the dealer's inability to fix this. Keep in mind, the dealer is billing Toyota, and I would expect they too, want an answer and resolution, rather than throwing tons of money at it.
This sucks, but I'd bet they will get it fixed.

When I was a tech and weird electrical issues popped up. First thing I checked was grounds. Literally every grounding point on the vehicle where the harnesses ground, engine harness grounds, mounting points for the computers etc. Good luck!!

At least maybe try another dealership service dept if there is one where you live. You don't have to use the service dept at the one you purchased from. I shop around for the best service if I change the brand of my ride.

I suspect on day 30 or 31; you will get notified that they will either buy back or replace the vehicle if you live in a 30-day Lemon Law state. That's how a similar situation played out with another manufacturer for me.

Update: I called toyota canada and they have opened a case on the truck. I thought I had done this already but I guess not. I advised them that I have lost confidence in the vehicle and I would like to go down the road of a buy back. They told me that this is an issue that I need to proceed with the dealership.

doesn’t seem right to me. It’s toyota’s vehicle, you’d think they’d stand behind their product.
    I’m not impressed.

that would have been the next step,,, going to buy back is going to turn off the ones that can help,,, it's their "scorched earth",,,, only used before; "imma sue you!"

Yup I’ve been through it. Don’t get hostile. The dealer will eventually sort it out especially something like this. The truck doesn’t drive so they have to one way or another

Hope you have better luck than me getting Toyota to buy back or give you another truck. I bought a new 2023 offroad just to get it home and discovered it needed over $6000 in paint repairs due to the factory messing up the paint. Toyota told me "That's what the warranty is for".

Don’t panic. Toyota has fantastic support and they will make it right. Just relax it will all be fine.
