did my clutch last week and put in the urd tob sleeve and bearing and stock toyota clutch. i know i did everything right but now a week later after seeing some fairly cold temperature im getting an howl noise with the clutch in or out. Noise changes slightly when i push the clutch in and out. sounds to me like the release bearing but i cant seem to find anyone else with this issue. it was fine for a few days and then started it one morning and it was doing it. Would i have got a bad bearing or something. It is very annoying considering I dont have a garage and really dont want to pull the transmition again in this temperature. wondering if any one has come across this before or any help is appreciated.

Hard to say or define what "Howling" is exactly but yes it is possible that you have a defective bearing. From the sound of what you described it points exactly in that direction.

Does it howl with the clutch pedal all the way out? If it does it sounds like it isn't disengaging all the way with the pedal out. This could lead to an early death of the TOB as it is running with the clutch all the time, which it is not designed to do. Did you check and adjust the clutch push rod after bleeding the clutch hydraulic line?

You should have a bit of free play at the top of the pedal.

Check that the pedal free play and push rod play are correct.

    (1) Depress the pedal until the clutch resistance begins to be felt.

Pedal free play: 5.0 to 15.0 mm (0.197 to 0.591 in.)
