I have a 2001 xtracab 4x with no aftermarket electronics other than the radio (which I've checked, has no drain) and my brand new battery (interstate) died at the gas station. I drive it everyday. It started when I left work, drove five miles stopped at a gas station shut it off, came back out it was dead…Ive checked the terminals, the connections, the solenoid and they all seem fine. Can’t think of anything that would drain the battery that quickly…

Put a volt meter across the battery when it’s at idle, should be 14 volts,
Typically this is alternator or a defective battery or cables,
Check the ground strap wires and the one to the block under the engine

    Bad battery it happens.

Without a Meter you just looked. Why did you just replace the battery??

By Die no battery output at all or it did not crank?

Were you able to jump start it?
That would eliminate starter and cables at least.
Batteries these days just up and die, with no warning.

So when you say it was dead, did it try to spin over?
