What is wrong here? I haven't even driven on them yet and the bed is empty and they're flat/ negative arch??

Yes I know it's rusty under there and yes I know the shocks aren't on, I had a whole set of other issues with my shocks.

Those aren't brand new, those are heavily used ones that have been painted. Also I would buy new bolts and plates from a reputable company, the passenger side plate does not look right ...

Alright everyone, they are indeed new, I bought them from dorman leaf springs, they weren't painted red when I got them, I did that in an effort to thwart future rusting

100 bucks a peice lifetime warrantee. I can return them if need be, but is there anything that can be screwed up during installation that would cause this? This is my first time installing leaf springs

They just look like a typical set of stock leaf springs (besides the red).

This ^ Not familiar with dorman but my Dakars have looked like that from day one. I would contact the company to make sure it's normal

    ^^This

They look just like my 1st gen springs did when I bought my truck new. 1st gen didn't have much if any of an arch to them.

I don't know about you guys but my stock leaf springs were never that flat. even after 13yrs.

in my opinion, dorman either messed up or manufactures their product to a different standard of quality than Toyota. I mean just look at that overload leaf; it's barely arching away from the pack.

I have just installed new stock replacement leafs and they look like this as well. Its all good, truck drives a million times better than the previous ones. As long as you get the required ride height in the back.

Also, as stated before, the passenger side bottom plate doesn't look right either. The driver looks normal other than paint

Agreed, same old linear warping, centers giving out look how much of the bottom spring is laying across the over load...

idk. My stock springs in my "02" doublecab I4 have waaaaay more arch than that and they are 12 yrs old with 200 lbs of recovery gear in the toolbox with tiregate and spare hanging off the back. That certainly doesnt look normal to me.

Yeah but Rich I'm willing to bet you don't overload your bed or launch your truck & these look like they've seen a little of both , but I can find linear warp or lateral twist (however slight ) even in yours...;)
