This is the intermediate shaft that Toyota uses for the steering TSB. I bought it planning to replace the intermediate shaft myself, but I wasn't able to easily remove the old one. And to be honest, after dealing with some of the incompetence I've seen with the dealerships, I don't trust them to do it. It's my only vehicle and didn't want to screw something up, and actually I'm kicking around the idea of selling and buying something new anyway.

Asking $215 shipped. The dealership will tell you around $225 and then charge you almost $250 with their fees and taxes. I'll accept a USPS MO or Paypal with an additional 3%. IM with any questions or interest.

I'll probably be returning it to the dealership sometime next week if there are no takers here.

    Thanks

ETA: This is the part number: 45220-04020. The old steering shaft is 45220-04010.

Quite honestly, I don't know exactly what they changed. It's most likely a redesign of the rag joint in some way. People who have had the TSB done seem very happy with it. It's supposed to significantly reduce the loose feeling of the steering on rough surfaces. Some people also get a noise from the steering on rough surfaces that it's supposed to eliminate.

Is this the TSB for the shakey wheel on a rough road?
