Packing a breaker bar for spare change. Buddy wanted to sell me a 15". I was leaning towards the more expensive 24"
    Will a 15" do?
Or you guys recommend the 24"?

The bigger the bar, the less work you have to do. For me bigger is better.

Also If you bring your truck to a tire shop or anything, those guys like to "auto torque" your lugs with a 1/2 inch impact gun. In that case you will need the bigger bar, trust me.

Mine's an 18" Craftsman that I've had for 20 years. Haven't found a nut I couldn't move (or break the bolt). I don't want any shorter, but wouldn't mind if it were longer.

Both will work. They won't be badly corroded so size shouldn't matter. Don't have to worry about clearance... Where's your lug wrench the vehicle came with? That will work fine. I don't need my breaker bar for wheels :notsure:

Kinda like @phsycle, I have an 18" Craftsman 1/2" that I have had since the late 60's.

It will fit into places that longer won't, and normally is long enough to get the job done.

If I need more bar, I have a nice length of pipe I picked up at HD I just slide over the handle.

Breaker bars are good finds at garage sales and pawn shops for just a couple of bucks.

A 24" breaker bar from harbor freight is literally $13. I've had mine for nearly a decade. No need for something crazy expensive here. Its a breaker bar.

Don't buy snap-on for wheel lugs. I have one for work, but I work on constuction and ag equipment with rusted nuts and bolts. My buddy has the pitsburg one that looks exactly like mine and it hasn't broken on him yet. 24" is the way to go though.

Hopefully only for installations, and not for removal of stuff.
