    OK cool. I'm on the southside. Live in VB and work all over, thankfully not on the Peninsula right now :D Traffic is light since March, but it's still a haul.

    Still not sure how I avoided it...4 of the remaining 5 lug nuts were more than halfway walked off the studs. Thank goodness that 5th one needed an impact to remove!

    87 ft-lb is not going to break that stud. Factory torque calls for 83. So, I really doubt an increase of approx. 5% will induce failure. Having said that, 87 ft-lb could break that stud if it has been compromised, as the rust on the right edge suggests.

    EDIT: I religiously torque my lugs to 85 ft-lb, 'cause I'm a rebel.
