Actually it would appear that my FiL torque wrench isn't calibrated properly (it's digital and he got it second hand) so they were undertorqued and walking off the rear driver wheel, walked 4 of 6 lugs at least halfway off the stud, this one snapped while driving on the interstate (thinking back I thought it was a large rock in the sliders or tire). Thankfully that last lug needed an impact to remove!

My neighbor said someone was looking out for me (I had driven 1200+ miles since doing the leaf install where I used FiLs torque wrench) because the rest of the studs typically start sheering off after one goes (or so he's seen). I obviously errantly skipped that wheels lug nuts on retorquing leaf spring bolts, ubolt flip kit interval session at 100mi. And didn't do lug nuts at the ubolt flip kit retorqued at 500mi. Interval check.
    Shine stud fix20200630_065129.jpg

I think SCS mentioned 85-87 for the torque spec, but either way...after replacing the stud and putting in the 4* shims, I had my torque wrench in the back floor with spline key and socket and checked each leg of my commute for a week (~400mi). There were two lugs that needed just the slightest extra tightening to get to spec after the first 90 miles before doing the commute torque checks.

I chaulk the rust up to the fact that the truck sat in my neighbors yard for 3 weeks after I noticed the rear shimmy and vibes outside the pinion grinding (ujoint working angle of 10°!). It's typically 70+ degrees relative humidity during the typical day around here, and lots of overnight rain, plus being near the Bay and Atlantic always make for fun rust development!

What degree shims did you end up using? That’s the only thing holding me back from going out and installing my deavers today. I have a 70mi round trip commute and don’t want to kill the ujoints if the angles are out of whack

I ended up needing 4* but post tire rotation I've been getting serious steering wheel vibes (like I've got "the shakes"). Discount rebalanced, but I need to get under it and check my DL working angles again.

I also have a set of 3* that were my original purchase as a kit from Headstrong...then got my angle finder working and found I was needing 3.9* to get my A+B+C=0 driveline formula square.

If I am reading reading this correctly, all of the studs on that wheel should be replaced.
No sense in taking a chance.
I occasionally double check my click-style torque wrench with an old school beam torque wrench. Beam style wrenches are relatively inexpensive and you can calibrate it anytime you want with no special tools or procedures.

I work for a company that does calibration work. Mine was recalibrated we 12/2019...I have a simple tekton click torque wrench.

I hadn't considered replacing all 6 studs...might take that under consideration. That said they've been fine even after the recent tire rotation (I checked torque after 50 miles and again at 250)...all of them not just the problematic one.

My dad ironically enough was born in Seattle...my grandpa was teaching at UofWashington's school of fisheries before taking a job with NASA at JPL, CA and then onto NASA Langley here in VA to work on the Viking Mission.

Retook my initial DL/U-Joint working angles...looks like I went pre-shim from -3.9* end result to now, post ~4k+ miles after putting on the Dobinsons Heavy leaf springs, initial results show I'm now at 4*!!! Gonna try to take at least two more rezero and measurement sessions to rule out any anomalies.

Still need to do my 50K oil filter, DL torque and greasing, plus extended brake lines (front & ear) install, hoping I can get into the garage tonight or tomorrow night and knock these out:facepalm:.

Tree clearing guys should be back tomorrow to finish the job...but the boss man isn't available to talk/return calls until Wednesday (day after we tentatively inked it as the make up day two weeks ago. DAMN IT, it's still Monday

20200825_173159.jpg Didn't get after photos but setup some 5ft. sections e-track for securing mower and other wheeled items, as well as firewood rounds, etc. for internal strapping/securing items from shifting too far back.

    EDIT UPDATE:
So I'm not sure if I want to move the side rails up another 6inches, or take the 5ft spare section and cut it into 2, ~2ft. sections and mount them in the gap, which is approximately 27.3".

Here's where they are currently (only have the corners anchored at this point)20200827_082705.jpg 20200827_065200.jpg

Well they came back to finish up the 3 hours of clearing time...which didn't quite accomplish all of the trees we wanted downed.
So top is final product, lower is what was done on the 13th for collage pictures below:
All that matters (outside of my thoughts on many "perimeter" trees on the yard should've been taken down first and foremost) is the wife is happy and content with what was done by the time they finished.20200826_192211.jpg 20200826_192318.jpg
As for the perimeter trees...We can fell them ourselves (just don't have that cool ass mulching machine/attachment!), and borrow a grinder from my tree guy (or rent it from him!).

    Service interval/work @50,637 miles
    • Oil and filter
    • Replaced rear and front brake lines with crown extended front and rear lines
    • Bled brakes added DOT3 fluid pre and post bleed.
    • Torque check on:
      • UCAs (grease BJs again in 3,100mi)
      • Lug Nuts
      • DL
      • Skid plates
    • @ARCHIVE rear wheel sensor skids installed (easy and fast install)
Definitely a different perspective being in the truck on top of the neighbors 2pt lift for brake bleeding!20200828_221250.jpg
Failed at getting any brake line pictures...guess I'll try when I do some backyard log :muscleflexing: this weekend!

Didn't get to removing the OE spare mount, diff drop or sway bar, but they'll be done since there is no avoiding them in 10k+ miles when it's diff, tcase, zerk greasing service time.

    Update photos:

A couple buddies came up to sight in and break in some AR platforms and I decided to drive down the newly formed path following the tree clearing, plus it made carrying all the items a cinche!

Got down a little and the ground was getting pretty soupy so I decided to airdown and snapped a few photos
