Currently 90yards/82m, have to clear a tree or three they couldn't get to when they came back further uphill. I am planning "flattening" out the elevated 15 yards leading to the open target area (plan on using the earth for building the backstop). Should be more than enough for pistol/bow/crossbow/rifle shooting, plus my inlaws family property has a field setup for shooting out to 400yds.

nice. I used to have access to a 200yd private range but I don’t have out with that friend any longer.

we used to mainly shoot 22LR out to 200yds, trying to hit paintballs on golf tees. Might sound dumb but shooting 22LR long range makes you a better marksman since it is exponentially more difficult than larger calibers. I would like to take my 22LR bolt gun and stretch it out to 300yd some day. See what happens and if I can hit anything with a decent amount of accuracy.

Love shooting 22lr at all ranges, but haven't stepped past 125yd with them at the range I used to be a member (before moving out to the country). Now it's mostly fun shoots with the wife when we can...aka last year for the Mrs.

Do you get the shakes all through the power band/ mph range? Just curious. I have mine dialed in except the axle wrap :annoyed: and I'm terrified if I fix the wrap, I'll end up with other issues.

Just got in on the mini-me game myself. Even overpriced .22lr is a steal next to 6.5CM match loads. Found it for a good price on the local used gun rack, and I already had a spare scope laying around.

Ummmmm 6.5CM, I was an (still certified) Range Safety Officer at the gun club and though I don't own one, my RSO buddies were retirees with lots of fun gun money...got lots of trigger time on 6.5CM, 300WM and 338LP.

I've got to get back into the bolt gun game, but am not in any rush currently.

Digging the RWB finish on that Precision Ruger 22LR. If I went with something similar id almost be willing to go to 17hmr...but then I'm like, hmmm one more ammo type to source vs. sticking with 22lr!

    that's so badass

22LR is hella cheap to shoot compared to larger calibers, even with match grade ammo.

I'm running a Savage MK II TR with a can. Deadly quiet and stupid accurate.

17hmr would prob be a better facsimile to 6.5, but considering rimfire ammo is nonexistent these days, I sniped the last 6 50rnd boxes off the shelf when I picked this guy up and called it a day. In a normal year, and mom and pop gunshop usually has .22, but 17hmr is hit or miss.

I liked the RWB finish and it grows on me every time I look at it. It fits the bench gun gaudy paintjob requirement as well, though I didn't find any coupons for something like a free "red hat" or a pack of sparklers or anything. :(

So initially I got my rear axle wrap/pinion angle fixed with the 4* shim kit...but then I ran into this
And was like well why explain anything further if you left!?!?:D:rofl:

Driveline issue was audible, no steering shake vibes, the shim fixed it.

Then I went in for the 5 tire rotation and immediately had steering vibes starting around 47mph, up to about 74mph. Like I have "the shakes" if I'm not pushing into the wheel at those speeds.
Went back to Discount two days later for rebalance and the tires balanced pretty damn true, think one front needed an extra 1/4oz.
    Definitely didn't resolve vibrations.

This morning after doing some backyard flex and got in some mud in the backwoods in 4lo, the vibes on the drive were muted as far as I could "feel".

I took an initial DL ujoint angles and looks like the rear 4°+ shim that fixed the post 2.75" increase from the leafs has settled and now I'm 4° too positive (if that makes sense).

Basically my DL angles A+B+C=0 ended up with A+B+C= -3.9° so to fix I put the 4° shim under the leafs and it fixed it.

Initial results now with DL vibes is A+B+C= 4°.

In theory I should be able to remove the shims and everything should be good, but haven't taken the time to do so

Yeah I have enjoyed all my cans, but using it on the 22s, though more post-fun maintenance than centerfire, is certainly stupid quite and fun! Racoons, squirrels, rabbits, etc. don't stand a chance! Sadly the regs and waits make me hesitant about growing that aspect of my firearm collection (covered all my bases pre42f change).

I'll eventually get a new stock for it, when my daughter is old enough to shoot, for now it resides in the gun cabinet collecting dust.

:rofl:I'm still here, just a long time Buffalo fan :anonymous: your flag was triggering.

Got it. I have 3 deg shims and no problems but the wrap. Pretty sure that's just my cheap AAL. An upgrade is on the list for the fall. When I went to 33's the discount tire place (no not Firestone) all but assured me I'd have vibes over 45 MPH, thankfully I don't have any vibes. They claimed over 31" is hard to balance with the computer. I assumed this was just an excuse for lazy workmanship, but maybe there is something to it.

I have shot less rounds than my friends on my property since moving there...but have fired more realistically/dynamic "targets" than my tenure at the range! Now once my kid(s) are 8 they're going to the ranges youth program no doubt, $5 provides the kiddos certified instructors, 22lr ammo, targets and rifle every Friday night. They also have kids claybusters program. Don't have to be members for the youth programs!

Can't wait to put the halfmoon berm into action!

@boogie3478 recent video on getting his 35s mounted and balanced...the tire guy gives some really cool insight and his experience in the large off-road type tire and wheel mounting and balancing, here you go: https://youtu.be/lKMAwKnImYw
