I've got 80k and still going. It's most likely brake dust.

Just to give you an idea. My 2004 Silverado was at 142,000 on original brakes when I traded it in. I'm guessing you are good.

    Yes
You can get squeaks from the back of the pads rubbing on the pistons, pop the pads out and put copper grease on the back of the pads.

when your brakes are "squeaking" from being low on pad, you'll KNOW when its the low pad indicator. that shits LOUD AND ANNOYING. you wont be guessing.

This...depends on how much stop and go, etc...
I usually get about 40k before front pads are needed...longer on the drums (89k on my old 06 and still did not need replacement)

Easiest way to get rid of a minor squeak with brakes is to dress the rotors with some fine grit sandpaper. Take the wheels off, and sand the slight shininess off the rotors. Just spin the rotor with the sandpaper and take the glaze off. That should relieve the squeal.

    Try some CRC Brake Quiet.

They have it at Autozone and NAPA.

If the rear drum brakes didn't need replacing after 89K do you think they needing adjusting? Perhaps the fronts are doing more than their share of the work. I know the fronts do more than the rears, but maybe the rears should be doing more. Just curious.

Icon coils, Squeaky dakars, Thule rack, tinted windows, weathertech rain guards, Demello off road front bumper, warn winch, shok sound deadening.
The squeak is most likely coming from the rear drum brakes. Mine does it as well. I haven't fixed yet. Usually solved with louder music.

Douse the "breaks" and rotors with this.

I had lose to 60,000 miles. Changed them when I rotated the tires. Still had some pad left, but with the tires off, half the work was already done.
