Has anyone here put the BRE exhaust (106-0171) on their 4.0L 2nd gen Tacoma? My stock muffler has a hole in it and I thought I might as well install a cat back system. I don’t want anything that is obnoxiously loud, but I don’t mind a little bit more noise. I would love to get some extra power, and thought the larger diameter of the kit might help with that.

I looked at the DynoMax kit, but it only comes with the ultra flow muffler which is supposedly louder than the super turbo. I put a super turbo kit on a Jeep with a 4.0 and I would not want anything louder than that on my Tacoma.

Can anyone with experience chime in? Any suggestions?

Got the 3” AFE and I like it. Bit different sound than anticipated.

It’s turnt too low in the back so will be getting it adjusted when I go to the exhaust shop for my reroute and header install.

You’re going to cause a firestorm talking about aftermarket mufflers and exhaust on a Tacoma, supposedly they all sound bad lol. I had a local exhaust shop weld in a Flowmaster Super 40 Delta Flow, and honestly I think it sounds great. It’s not loud when cruising, there’s no drone, and it’s about as deep of a tone as you can get out of a V6. Everything, including the weld, cost me $300.
