I'm confused... LoL I'm about 11 hours from Portland, and its another 2 1/2 to Tacoma from there.

 

Ugh, why do FJ emblems have to be so damn ridiculously priced..... I think I'm going to clean up my spare Tacoma emblem and throw it on t he grill for now.

 

I have a high chance of going to tacoma after all my training is done.

 

Right on! Tacoma's a ghetto man. You'll love Seattle though. Portland is an awesome place as well for an extra hour or two drive. Keep in touch!

 

Updated with more pics. For reference, (I was just comparing) the first photos are current, and my BFG KM2's have 50,000 miles on them now... for anyone afraid of getting a Mud Terrain due to increased tire wear.... don't be. The photos at the end are a little bit older.

Very nice! How hard was painting your grille? I really really want to do this but i know the whole process of painting and satoshing will take quite a bit of work and its making it hard to start.

I was thinking about getting the colormatched paint online in a spray can, with some special plastic primer and also a clear coat can. Figure if i sand enough and do enough coats i can make it look as good as the factory paint.. maybe..

 

It was actually really easy, and mine matched perfectly. It took a few coats though. Despite all my limited efforts at the time, I thought I could get the paint to stick to the chrome if I roughed it up enough. It didn't and is slowly chipping away. I didn't have my buzz sander or any other powered sander at the time, so naturally I got tired and tried the shortcut. Take all the chrome off would be my advice. I used adhesion promoter as well. It made the paint stick to a milk jug plastic, but not this for some reason. Also I suggest a black primer. I used gray and it wasn't dark enough, forcing me to add a couple more coats than I probably needed, had I used black.

Also, the satoshi work was actually really easy. Just time consuming. I worked on it every night after work for a couple hours leading up to mod day. IIRC I had it done by mod day. I have a couple tips for that one if you want a PM.
