supercharger is sitting idle waiting for a healthy 2TR to throw it on.. I think I may buy a little 5 lug single cab for a donor/project truck. Don't think I want to sell it just yet, I've got a lot of time invested into the setup, just gotta figure out the head gasket. Just a minor set back:oops:

Did you install it yourself? I’ll most likely get one in the next year or so.

Yes I did. It was pretty straight forward but took some modification along the way due to minor fitment issues. Fuel pump was the hardest part id say. Not sure how comfortable you are with wiring but there is some involved with it too. Worth it for sure though! I wish I could run mine, it's tough dealing with the truck being a turd when I have a blower sitting around. I think this thing is gonna keep trucking though, so I guess n/a it is for now

So it’s causing an issue with what exactly?

It's got a slow head gasket leak so it's pressurizing the coolant system, causing the overflow tank to fill up, and then the radiator gets low. I guess the extra cylinder pressures didn't want to play nice with the 270k that I've got on the motor lol

@BassAckwards so it looks like the top of the trans crossmember is slanted a .25 inch on my trans can you look and see if it’s the same on your 4wd? Or is it flat?

What do you mean? like the front is a quarter inch taller? My 4wd is a 6spd, so not sure if that makes a difference, but yes i can go check

Use the bottom of the cross member as the datum so it doesn’t matter what angle the top is at.

It makes it more tricky for me than just dropping the center section down because it’s slanted it looks like. But on some one the other conversions it looks like it hey didn’t take that into consideration. My uncle stress test metals for a living and he says you want to make sure or you could have issues down the road so I want another opinion.

Yea. I have no idea what you are really talking about. The bottom of the cross member is flat. I just dropped the center drop 1-1/16". Everything bolted up fine and I've been running it that way for over 100k miles now.

It’s not flat. It may look flat underneath the truck but it’s actually slanted ever so slightly. We measured with micrometer in my uncles machine shop and confirmed it.

you dropped yours in a different fashion than I’m dropping mine so makes sense it wouldn’t make much of a difference.

I was thinking maybe it was flat ontop of a 4wd crossmember but idk.

On mine there is a flat section in the middle.

Out at the edge of the cross member near the frame bracket
    1535A2D2-191B-422C-AB7F-3C9A88C1AE0D.jpg

Just inside of where I cut:
    9E668F47-6604-444B-8007-986CE79DB312.jpg

At the very center of the cross member:

The 0.1° is only cause I wobbled a little as I took the picture. It’s close enough to flat that you’d need a dial indicator to notice the difference.

I can’t say for sure what the top surface is like so that might come into account with the way you are modding the CM. But it doesn’t have to be perfect. The trans mount is pretty flexible. Just has to be close enough to bolt up. You could bolt the mount to the trans and to the section of the CM that you cut out. Then get the trans at the angle you think looks good. Tack everything in place then pull it out and finish weld the CM.

Yea I was taking about the top portion. It is ever so slightly slanted front to back. It’s .25 of an inch difference. Side closest to the grinder in the pic is lower

the crossmember itself is not slanted just the top plate section!

Do you have a digital level? You can use that to zero on the top surface. Then you should be able to get it back in at the same angle. Should be able to get that close enough.
