Early summer is gonna be too soon for me. All the stuff I’ve got to do to prepare and save up for. Need to wait until Atleast July after I get my bonus again lol

Nope, I don’t think the bell housing is removable on the RA60 transmission. I don’t really have any other input on how to swap to it if you wanted. Don’t know if the clutch and flywheel are similar.

The RC series transmissions from e 3rd gen has a removable bell housing. Not sure if the R-series bell housing bolts up to it. Either way, it has double overdrive ratios which might not be ideal with the 4-cyl.

Thanks! How much clearance is there between the shifter and the auto trans shift assembly?

My setup the trans shifter actually slightly touches the tcase shifter because I got tired of unwedinging grinding and rewelding. That part by far took the longest to get it lined up right. But everything clears!

So the newer 6spds run double OD that stinks. Pretty sure the 2nd gen 5th is the 1:1 and 6 is the only OD

Yeah so my plan was 6-7 days of driving (little farther than you) then a little over 1 week of wheeling taking 2 full weeks and 3 weekends

Yea. It’s not terrible on the v6 cause then you can run 5.29s and have decent RPMs on the highway. But I don’t think it would be that great in the 4-cyl.

Yeah that 6th gear is not that much lower than what we have in the 5spd auto.

Anybody think the mileage matters on an FJ transfer case? Front diff? Im gonna get a low mileage transmission for my build but wasn’t sure if it mattered too much with those parts since they arent used as much with the average person

Personally I think how it was used or if it was in a nasty accident is more of a concern than mileage.
