Brians F/R Locked Long Travel Camping and Overland Build

Put on my fire extinguisher mounts. Thinking of flipping them to backside. Decided I needed one after I almost burned down camp on the last trip.


Might try to burn in my MC gussets this weekend if I’m feeling like it.

 

Started mocking up my MC gussets last night. Mounts pretty bent which i bent back with a vice grip and hammer. also had to do some trimming on the gusset because as you can see doesn't fit right around the cam tab.

 

Yea I ended up cutting a little off that tip by the diff cause it was contacting the diff mount. Maybe since my truck was a prerunner? Idk but it’s fixed now. It’s extremely tight and sucks being on the ground trying to weld. We’re you on the ground?

 

I was almost directly underneath and slag fell off an went through my jacket and got me. Hurt like a bitch. Im taking extra measures tonight. This is taking a lot longer than i thought it would. Im paranoid so ill like run a bead and squirt a shit ton of water on the mount and wipe it off and wait to cool lol before i start another one. Seems like Powder coat on back side is flaking. Gonna be hard to paint in there.

 

Yea might try that i have to figure something out. Not much room to work with.
