Hey man thanks  Are you saying a 3rd gen 6mt? I contemplated it when I did mine but there’s honestly too much involved like the the shifter is different for 3rd gen and also the tachometer. I know @jowybyo did a 5mt. I think his is documented somewhere. He did his conversion before I did mine I kinda piggybacked off his lol. But non the less it’s a fun process and I definitely recommend!

I did a 5MT swap but used the 3rd gen manual trans. The 3rd gen 2.7L is also 5-speed not 6-speed.

@Jeff Lange - What was the consensus on bolting a 6-speed up to the 2.7L? I assume it’s not a straight bolt up swap.

Change my leaf spring bushings this weekend! They needed it bad. Also gave a quick paint job. Ready for Daniel Boone Back country Byway next week!

Thanks jowybyo. I really want to bolt on a 6MT on from an FJ or Taco. I currently have a 5MT on my 2.7L.

I’m interested to see it if you manage to get it done. I don’t think you can use the Taco 6MT because the bell housing isn’t removable. You’ll need a version of the 6MT that allows you to change to a different bell housing.

Had an awesome time again around the DBBB. Perfect trip balance between wheeling and over landing. We did Mtn. Springs Road Sat and man was it tough. Truck did well though and only had to winch once. Extremely rutted out and rocks in some sections mud was also an obstacle. The hill section in the very middle is the hardest part which took double locked full throttle in most sections to get up. Probably at 35* incline in some parts. I developed a whine in my transmission so im hoping its not f***. Anyways it was a blast of a trip. Here's a few pics. I never take enough and never get any videos of the wheeling lol.

yea i can only imagine how bad it would be after the rain on Sunday. We went through Saturday. My truck made it almost all the way through. Only had to winch last section of hill cause the rut was like 3-4 foot ledge to get over that i couldn't. We went the opposite direct so we came up the hill instead of down lol. We went through that guys property area that was opened by court order and he was on his golf car shaking his head at us when we went by lol. Fun trail though. Thats my speed.

A buch i side by sides came along the opposite direction. Luckily we were on the last part on the hill lol. I just had to help my buddy get over it. They drove off into woods and we passed them.

Pretty sure my transmission pump has failed but not 100% certain which means ill have to pull the transmission. So truck will probably be down for a hot min. Noise is gross lol. Which is similar to videos Ive found with failing pumps.
