Probably yes. I was going over the diagrams that @Speedytech7 shared and I think I need to test the IGT and IGF wires before deciding on a new ECU. Last night I stole the caps off of my old 5vz ECU and basically recapped the Camry ECU (albeit with 25 year old caps vs 28 lol)

New ECU ordered along with new caps for it. I made a set of jumper wires from the igniter to the pins on the ecu and it made no difference, still immediately pops the p1300. Hopefully a new old ecu fixes it...

    :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Being that the capacitor in this ecu blew, more circuitry may also be bad.

Minor update on the truck: driver side cams, springs, buckets, head gasket and head studs have been installed. Below are what I used for shims, probably not useful to anyone but hey.

As long as all of the lash tolerances are good, well done.

One of them is slightly out of spec (0.39mm vs 0.37mm max) and is a bit lose on the exhaust side, I doubt it'll be an issue other than a minor click.

Side 2 done. Tomorrow I'll be modifying some cheap eBay headers and moving towards reassembling this thing.

Nice dude, slamming it back together. I'm hoping we can pick up our cleaned heads this week to start port work.

    Alright another update.

The cheap eBay headers? Yeah they suck. I wasted alot of time learning this. So I've decided to run a stock ish exhaust with a 1gr muffler and 2.5" inner diameter tubing for now.

Anyway I'm not sure what the rules are concerning gore/blood but while I was porting the stock manifolds to match up to the larger exhaust ports on the head, I slipped.

I was using a single cut carbide burr about 3/4" in diameter and my right hand thumb started to get tired, so what I did was engage the die grinder with both hands and my thumb had enough umpf to hold the trigger in place. Unfortunately once I slipped the burr jumped across the top of my left hand thumb. It hit something hard so figured it did some damage. And damage it did! It cut straight through my skin and lacerated the tendon that allows the tip of the thumb to flex outward away from the palm. Luckily it only went through about 60% ish of the tendon. Thankfully it genuinely didn't hurt and I was given some stitches and a splint. Still feel fine except I can't use that thumb and have typed all this one hand lmao.

I'd post the after math but it's quite uhhhh explicit, which is kinda cool because I could watch the tendon move around lol.

    Anyway.

    P.S.
New Camry ECU did not help. Onto the wiring harness itself...

    Today's progress:

I've been sick since last Thursday with something awful so today was the first day I've done anything productive since slicing my thumb open.

    PXL_20250109_045946976.RAW-01.COVER.jpg

Stock exhaust has been installed as well as valve covers and seals.
