Get the full Old Man Emu lift kit. It's $1000 and it's the best all around kit available. Comes with new shocks all around, new coils in the front and a new leaf pack in the rear. Gives 2.5" of lift which is really right where you want to be to not break every other part of your truck when you actually want to wheel it.

Cool overs for the stock front are a total waste IMO. The only advantage they have over the bilstein or OME front shocks are the adjust collars so you can adjust anywhere between 0-3" instead of setting it at 0, 1 or 2.5" in the case of bilstein.

A true coil over that will actually yield a higher level of performance is going to be a 2.5" body, reservoir, 8" travel which are the shocks used on most bolt on long travel kits. The "coil overs" they sell as OEM replacement lift kits are a total scam. They are the same size shock as the bilstein. Shock performance is largely proportional to its actual size or more specifically the amount of oil it can hold. A larger diameter shock or a reservoir shock is going to perform better than a smaller non res shock.

They are nice granted but not $1500 just for a set of tiny coil overs nice.

Yeah I think you're right. I myself probably won't utilize $2500 worth of suspension...lemme look into that OME kit

How full is your catch can and how many miles so far?

And did you get a nice can with baffles and stuff? I ordered one for $20 and it's just a hollow can so I put some tubing and a stainless steel pot scrubber in it..

I think you need to do more research, even the stock replacement coilovers from King, ADS, SAW, and Icon have 2.5" bores with the availability to have reserviors. They ride so much better than the Billies it's not even funny. Valving is so important, properly valved coilovers will out ride any set of billies or OME. Also you can get extended travel stock replacement coilovers that net you another inch of down travel. Fox is the only company that makes a 2.0 coilover for the front and you're right those aren't worth the money. OME shocks paired with their brand of springs are the next best thing if you're not doing coilovers. Just don't do billies and eibachs, I want to save someone else from the harshness, I cannot wait to put my Icons in.

Not a suspension expert by any means, but I will say my front and rear Bilsteins are rough riding.

It has a baffle with mesh, so not super good or super low quality. And no oil or anything just some condensation. I figured out that I'm only on 2psi atm because my WG is hooked up pre IC so I gotta fix that...otherwise the thing runs good and is faster than before

    Edit: like 110 miles

K go ahead and drop 2k for a set of those "coil overs" and tell yourself how worth the $$ it is. Go ahead and put "extended travel" replacement coil overs on your stock suspension and tell yourself you're getting more travel. Yeah, valving is important, got me there. Obviously Fox, King, etc are going to out perform bilsteins, apples to oranges. 2.5" body with reservoirs? Cool, you're still on stock A-arms with what, 6" travel? I'll stick with my $150 Bilsteins.

I digress, my point is you may as well go LT if you're going to buy legit coil overs since to utilize them you're going to have to upgrade so many other components of the stock suspension. Alternative? Stick with a low end shock which is still better than stock and start saving for LT. What do they charge for these "mid travel" front kits? $3,000-$3500? Lol, no.

I've already got a low end shock, it blows. I've ridden in and wheeled with people that have properly set up coilover rides and it's a dream. Also you get more than 6" of travel, I'd really suggest you go and actually do some research instead of blindly fighting something you clearly don't understand. You don't use stock upper arms, they are the limiting travel factor for 1st gens. Is money the only thing your hung up on, it's just money, can't take it with you. Plus your cost figures are massively off anyway.
I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, you're just not right.

This OME kit? If this is the one you are talking about then what spring would I choose? I did some math and it'll take around three months to save up for this. Im totally not against a LT setup or MT setup, but money is something that will take a while for me, and I don't wanna spend 6 months saving for this stuff. If this OME kit falls between billies and kings then it sounds good to me.

The OME kit is definitely a happy medium to get ya on the trail. Call Down South Motorsports and one of the guys there can recommend the right spring for the front based on your weight and proposed height. They are great guys and super knowledgeable.

Ext. Travel co and ucs is around 2k. Lt will cost you over double. Even more if your a 4x4.

Not everyone can use a wide ass lt setup or wants glass fenders. a decent mid travel setup will put 5100s to shame while lasting longer.

Don't need a new leaf pack. Mine were terrible and the AAL perked them right up.

Mine were frowny. I just hauled a bed of tile and the bumps rode on the frame for most of the trip. Never recovered after that. Put in an AAL and they were happy after :D
