Hey guys I was thinkin about getting this lift kit after I turbo my truck, http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...with-5100-shocks-for-95-04-Tacoma_p_1137.html
and was wondering about something. This kit can replace the coils (which is what Ill do) but not the leafs, its justs adds a leaf. So I was wondering, with 171,xxx miles on my truck should I replace the factory leafs? They have a bit of a negative arc in them and have definitely sagged a bit since I bought the truck, I just dont wanna buy this and then realize I gotta get rear leafs too because the kit only lifted it back to stock height with the sag on the old leafs.

If their sitting flat/negative then a new pack is in store for you. Actually with all that added power youl want upgraded leafs. 300whp would Wrap up those weak factory leafs pretty good.

Those leaf lookin things keep the leaf packs from separating, which is apparently what causes axle wrap. If you put a U-bolt on the end of where the bottom leaf pack starts then it prevents them from separating and in turn prevents axel wrap, or atleast thats what that thread was saying. I'll try that mod tomorrow I think...

Im finding websites that sell it without the Internal WG, and it already has BB's versus the TS turbo which costs $400 dollars more to get BB's on

Actually tbh i cant really find it anywhere from any website that looks reliable... my only issue with the TS turbo is is that its journal bearings and not BB's...Although since i don't have boost anyway I'm assuming i wont be able to tell any difference :D

alright so I tried the thing with the U bolts where you bolt the helper spring to the primary spring annnnnnnnnnndd yeah...not so great of results.
In total this lowered the rear end about an half an inch! It was reading around 5.5inches from the top of the wheel to the fender flare, then it went down to 5 inches lol The fronts are just over 6 inches from the flare to wheel top. Safe to say that at 5.5inches means new leafs lol :D

Well I followed some stuff other guys had sucess with. Essentially bolting the helper spring to the primary springs stops axle wrap. Well It did. It also mad the truck ride stiffer and sag less with extra weight, but also lowered it lil over half an inch (hauled 250 lbs over the rear axle with very little sag)

Ok i just seen in that thread. That method is pretty dumb. Your taking sagged out springs and purposely putting them at a negative arch. Its gona ride real bad and cause damage to your leafs. It doesn't actually sag less unless the u bolt is tight its binding up the leafs not allowing them to slide on each other.

Which was exactly what was happening I think, as when i pushed on the back of the truck it sprung back instead of coming back with resistance from the shocks.

Alright man...As much as it pains me to say this. I cant get a brand name smaller turbo. Maybe I can exchange the one I have now for a smaller turbo from CXracing, but it's just not in the funds right now. I also HAVE to replace my leaf springs as they've been getting worse. Im fairly sure bad leafs+300whp=broken shocks lol
