Thanks for the input guys. I'll be watching this thread as well as the mapecu gb thread while doing more research and hopefully decide on something. Good luck Brice with getting the fic going. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all works out

Are there multiple forms of ignition selection available?

Is it firing the proper coil per cylinder? Is there a table that needs to be setup for the specific firing order?

Could be the crank sensor getting a dirty signal. Need to add the resistor. It'll give bad/no ignition signal if it doesn't know where the crank is.

I'll try that, but I only have a 1.8k resistor, should do the same general thing though

I think I used a 2000k... If you buy one, get one adjustable as I hear it can depend on the ECU. Once you've dialed it in, superglue the resistor adjustment knob to keep it from moving.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't even know there was such a thing as adjustable resistors.

EDIT: Nvm I'm assuming you're talking about potentiometers :D

ITS ALIVE!!!! I got it to idle at around 14.2-15.5 or so, but it runs! I got those AFR's by subtracting 20% fuel or so which seems like I would subtract more but oh well...I also messed around with the O2 sensor and yeah IT RUNS! It seems the resistor did the trick!:D:burnrubber::yay:

Hey what did you end up doing to stop the AEM reading 12,000rpm??

You have to setup the AEM software.

Yup :D and ignition is sort of progressively control by retarding it with boost, like -1 degree every pound or something

If you had some one send you a file of how theirs is working, from a long time known hood running vehicle, you could compare timing maps.

I did take the truck out for a drive today, I noticed a couple of things.

At idle and in gear it will stall out and die sometimes, and does it more frequently in reverse.

At anything above 2500 rpm or so it bucks super hard then picks back up, the feeling is similar to if it was chained to a tree the all the slack in the chain was out.

And the idle AFR is super crazy at around 13.8 to 15.5 soooo I guess I'll have to look into that, I did notice however that changing the O2 values had no effect on things really....

The bucking could be a bad communication with the crank sensor. I was having a similar issue until I pulled the resistor. It probably also is your plugs. I spent a long time dialing in the right plugs. They are super important.

Those afr swings are totally normal for a narrow band type o2, not sure what you have. Mine are generally +/- .5. At idle it swings from 14.2-15.0.

My timing map is just 1 degree for every psi. Don't try to make sense of the fuel table, just try to zero the ecu's fuel trims. You're better off referencing @vasinvictor's maps, I think you're both automatic and maybe both wideband..?

I think it's my O2 sensor in some fashion? Also I've had these plugs pre AEM and I'm still at 5psi so I don't think they're causing problems yet... Maybe I actually have a narrow band and don't know it? Everything says I don't but idk...

And I had also set up my timing map for -1 every psi of boost, Im pretty sure its my o2, or like you said the cam signal is still dirty... And the resistor bridges between the cam signal not the crank

Also what did you guys do for the MAF? I cant seem to get open loop idle into stoich its super rich, but then closed loop kicks in and it fluctuates between 12.0-15.0 any ideas??

As of right now nothing has worked and I'm out of ideas. (been screwing with this all day)

I'm guessing your fuel map is too rich for your fuel trims to correct. You need to use a scanner and zero your trims. The resistor bridges the in bound cam signals but is also tied to the crank signal. Also check the pins on the harness, they're known to pop out. I didn't use any MAF skewing.

What does your fuel map look like? O2 offsets don't change afrs at all?

What values are in your MAF table?
    Also Ive removed 55% fuel...
And I checked the harness, no loose pins :notsure:
