The t04 serise is nice good all around size turbo. I bet it'll be fine. Compressor is a tad big still but shouldn't be terrible. Be still nice boost.

Seemed like you were barely on the throttle and it shifted HARSHLY. Is that the most aggressive setting?

Yup drilled all the holes for "hotrod" haha around third I sorta got into it. On hot rod I will admit that it's hard to shift it smoothly. Generally for a smooth shift I have to rev to atleast 3k but not over 4k then left off the gas 3/4ths of the way and it'll shift ~somewhat~ smoothly lol. It really only shifts hard when you dont let off the gas more than halfway

Either way, vastly better than the ECT button

Turbo sizing on an NA vehicle is always a bit hard to "feel" what you are looking for.

I disagree with the smaller turbo. I'd like to see you run a smaller one just to see what results you get. I do not want to be in boost all the time driving around. I want boost when I push the gas to go, but driving around town all day every little rpm rev, I don't need to spool my turbo. CX Racing is a great company. I've been running boost on my taco for almost 1.5 years. You've most likely seen my build. Not sure why you didn't pick my brain too? CX Racing is a company with TONS of race proven products, builds, and happy customers. Do you really think they'd just slap some random turbo on a kit? They specialize in boost and race proven parts. This is a V6. A low revving V6, still 6 cylinders none the least. And all these China haters. LOL. China is one of the world leaders in the TECH sector. If people were so worried about buying American parts and turbos why'd you buy a Japanese truck? This isn't a 1000hp GTR or 650hp Mustang. A $2000 Garrett turbo isn't needed. Bottom line is do your research and buy the best product you can for your hard earned money. Best we can do. Hope you got a good waste gate though, very important component. I'd love to help you out just as the other guys helped get me going. Gio and Chris were instrumental in assisting me. Something to be said about a man who goes from knowing nothing about turbos to installing a functioning reliable system on his own. I'm at 10psi and 310whp on a dyno. Planning for more but not anytime soon. Following your build man.......

Oh thank God. I thought I was insane for not wanting instant boost. (not saying that wouldn't be cool) The snail I bought is a bit smaller than the CXracing turbo, but not by too much...
And I thought we talked some on gio's thread? If not then you're here now!
When do you see full boost?
What size turbo are you running?
What size fuel pump do you have?
    Do you have bigger injectors?
    Do you use an FMU?
    Do you use an AEM?
    What's your 1/4 mile? ;):burnrubber:

I was thinking 12psi and 350whp at some point (probably with the AEM)

I have a GT30 bb, billet wheel, oil and water cooled, v band out. Forget the ind/exd sizes but could find em if you want, its somewhere in my build. I'd have to look again where my full boost is, think around 2300 - 2500 range. I need to video some pulls. Haven't in a while. Buy a Denso fuel pump only if you go over 8 to 10psi. I have a TT Supra pump. Never Walbro! 42lb injectors (440cc). FIC6/Boomslang, works great. Going to Bandimier Speedway this summer to run the 1/4 but the 35s I put on slow it down A LOT. I also inject methanol.

What waste gate did you get, afr gauge, and boost control?

No boost control atm. I got a 39mm precision kit with ALL their springs and an AEM afr gauge. I may get a boost controller, but with all those springs I may not need to.

EDIT: with all there 39mm type unit, springs

That turbo that @j0shu4 is using has a pretty sweet map for your truck. Good spool. If you look at corrected air flow, multiply by 10 and that is roughly the horsepower you will be pushing. Just follow for example a 10 psi line which is right around a pressure ratio of 1.7. You can see where the turbo begins to spool good and tapper off depending on the efficiency line you are in.
