Hey @Torspd, correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't a ball joint spacer on the lower ball joint have a lowering effect?

Per say, yes. But what will that do to your alignment?

I hear an upper spacer would cause camber, so I assume a lower one would cause the opposite? (forgot what it's called)

I haven't found much on the negatives on an alignment except all the 4runner guys saying they were able to get an alignment and have it be ok and normal. They were lifting though...

I really want like 4" lower, but idk how Im gonna get that yet. I was thinking custom 2" drop spindles and 2" lowering springs but I bet those spindles would be $$$ Then I came across ball joint spacers

Pretty sure ball joint spacers would take your caster and camber out of whack to the point where it would be impossible to return the alignment to close to spec. These trucks alignment is done purely off the lower control arm cam bolts. Nothing up top.

Not to mention these trucks and ball joint issues.. no way would I want to run even longer ball joint bolts when the factory ones like to sheer if they're reused

Yeah, I'm looking at how the ball joint mounts to its bracket now and it doesn't seem like it would have the same effect as on he 4runners upper ball joint. For some reason I thought the ball joint was mounted above a solid bracket making the ball joint spacer a static piece vs on our lower ball joints where it would move around with the ball joint.

your best bet would be lowering springs is my guess. These 4wd suspensions don't lend them selves to having much lowering capabilities. Not mention it would destroy ride quality.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Heavy ass. MR2's are fun to drive when they aren't trying to kill you. I can't imagine that much power with a heavy cast iron block in the back. The camry V6 with the alu block actually weighs less than the original 4cylinder and is a much better swap.

    I'm just hating because I don't have the $10000...

A ball joint spacer will also throw off your upper and lower control arm angles, to themselves.

Springs or a steering knuckle with the hub raised higher, would be a better choice.

Just figured out a way to get 4" lower in the front.
This kit http://sosperformance.com/products/...3-dot-5-rear-lowering-kit-fits-2005-16-tacoma uses brackets to move the springs 2" lower on the strut (sorta like drop spindles).
So if I use the 2" drop brackets from tundra racing and belltech 2" drop springs I should be at 4" in the front and if I add a 1" block to the rear of TR kit I should be at 4" there as well.:notsure:

Should work, but it'll likely ride pretty harsh

Hey Torspd, how much gap do you have? with a 275/60r17 (29" tire) I'd be at 3.75" from the fender lowered. Stock I'm 6.75"

I have a 275/40 R20. Without doing the math, they are around your diameter. My fender to tire gap is from index to ring finger. Around 3".

Ok so while I was fixing my kick down cable I decided to see if I could solve my harsh reverse issue.
    IMG_20170711_200902433.jpg IMG_20170711_200928749.jpg IMG_20170711_200914477.jpg IMG_20170711_201145477.jpg IMG_20170711_203117432.jpg
Once I got the valve body apart I realized that I installed a pressure valve backwards. Not too good. I've since fixed it and am reinstalling today.
