Going to need to get a Seed Key from VFT or your tuner if he has the seed generator.

Mat/VF pulled 1.7.5 from use, and made 1.7.3.1 available for use again, which does not require the access key generator. So for the time being, the original recovery procedure is available again.

@mZiggy - For those of us on 1.7.5 do we need to uninstall 1.7.5 and then download 1.7.3.1 ?

If you bricked it from a stock file, you’re 99% gonna have to bench flash it. Meaning take it out of the truck and make the harness to do it.

you can update the software and should have access to trying the recovery flash method it sounds like.

Yup that did it. 1.7.3.1 was the solution. Thank you!

I installed the stock tune for the time being. It’s actually not that bad.

Awesome! Glad that actually worked for you. Myself and others haven't been so lucky lol.

I thought that too when I flashed back for a few days...then I was itching to get back to at tune and it was night and day difference after I did.

yea, Mat reactivated this 1.7.3 version so that you don’t have to do the request to use recovery tool. This is until further notice.

@surf19 take a breath and relax, you will be good! If you haven’t already, you need to follow the procedures to request an Access Key for recovery from VFTuner. Do you know how to do that?

VF Tuner is OV Tuner. Head over to the VF Tuner website and go to the resources tab and find the instructions for ECU recovery.

Bricked my ecu tonight trying to flash a tune. Performed the recovery method with the access code and still did not work. Something's up with vf3.0 I never had problems flashing prior to this. Very strange. Will see what vf support advises me to do next...

dang the recovery tool didn’t work on a vfc file flash? Can you give more details on what happened during the flash process?

I tried flashing the file in the vftuner folder. File for my ecu with 04b33 in it. It errors out about 1/4 of the way through flashing and says ER1632 i get the sound of a usb device disconnecting. Tried diff ports. I am using an active 30ft cable to my desktop. Never had problems with many flashes on this exact cable and setup in the past but never flashed on vftuner 3.0. Gonna try a diff active cable tomm. IMG_1077.png
