What was the file that you originally bricked with? Stock base file or a tune? Did the file finish flashing or did a brick error happen mid flash?

it was a yotawerx tune, it stated it was vin locked before flashing but i dont recall ever giving him my vin. infact i know i never did looking back now. it errored mid flash but can't remember the error it stated. in my previous post when i mentioned that i tried flashing the vftuner stock file this was during recovery. the original file i attempted to flash was the yotawerx tune. My vehicle had a Valley Runner tune on it that i have been running for over 2-3 years or so.

I see. I asked because there was an old issue before of corrupt stock files with vF. It has since been corrected, but I had a brick due to that before.
You sure there wasn’t an intake form or something where you put your vin for the file request?
The most common error would probably be an inconsistent voltage thing. Did you have accessories on you forgot about, like heated seats?

Did you completely remove Valley Runner tune, or VFtuner software before trying to install yotawerx tune?

You mean did I flash back to stock before flashing the new tune? Never done that in the past. Is that the preferred method to flash now?

edit. I completely removed vftuner software and reinstalled before flashing. I had to, the vftuner I had installed wouldn't open so I did a fresh clean install of vftuner.

thinking I'll likely have to bench flash, which i'm not opposed to doing. hoping to get instructions for this. others have been kind enough to share me some pics and diagrams so far on the harness, but still need to know how to remove the ecu properly and the instructions on steps to take in vftuner once i get the harness hooked up. Still waiting almost 24h for a reply from vftuner zendesk. hopefully Soon!

Well, Good news! got the new USB cable today delivered and the flash went through no problems at all. Had a feeling maybe the USB extension cable was messing up. Used it many times in the past, maybe it just finally got bent or something weird. Who knows but i'm stoked to have the truck back up and running. Recovered to the stock 04b33 file, then flashed my Yotawerx file right away both went through no problems! Thank you all for your help, whew that feels better.
