I thought these were out in the last public release. What's your email? I'll send you over the A61 file.

I’m curious where the updated stock files with corrected CVNs are? Doesn’t look like the stock files in my vF Tuner directory have updated since 3/14/2022 on most of them.

*edit* with what @Stormpeacock shared below, that file will be good to go. */edit*

I can't say for certain on that one. We were working directly with VFTuner to resolve the CVN/Bricking issue. I can say with certainty the following files/dates are Good To Go:

    A61 - 9/28/23
    B04 - 9/22/23
    B33 - 9/29/23
    B82 - 9/28/23
    C21 - 9/22/23

    A72 - 9/28/23
    B14 - 9/28/23
    B42 - 9/28/23
    B91 - 9/28/23

They may not be in the directory, though I do recall a previous version did have them. I can't remember specifics on what version I had installed at the time.

Interesting, so I guess 04C30 was already the true stock file and that one also did not need a CVN update? It really doesn't matter to me as I am not on stock anymore nor does Texas care, I'm just curious.

No, that's one I don't have. The stock C30 file in the VFT directory (at the time of this posting 1.7+ version) still has the encryption/non-OE CVN.

The 9/28/23 A61 file that's in there is a good version w/ the correct CVN. DO NOT USE the 8/27/23 file.

My files came direct from Mat so they may be slightly different (date wise) than what gets published in the VFT folder.

I bricked my pickup Thursday flashing to 04B04. The VF recovery tool was unable to fix it. I reached out to @PapaRee to see what my options were. He connected me with @TWTaco, who was able to revive my ecu via a bench flash. I’ve said this before, but it deserves repeating: the customer service from the KDMax group is beyond amazing – they’re super helpful, and genuinley nice people. Thanks again guys!

That’s a bad feeling when something does go wrong and it’s good to have support when it does.

I appreciate all those who have been a part of this thread and showing support for the overall community of tuners and customers! Thanks

Curious, does this mean that all the tunes that were written previously, have to be rewritten with the new file?

If your 04B04/04A61 file(s) were built prior to 8/27/23 you’re golden.

If you used the 8/27/23 file as the base file for your build, it’s possible it could have issues. Truth be told, I’ve not tested or messed around figuring out what would/could happen.

When we initially were working with Mat on this and discovered the bad files, all efforts shifted towards getting a file made without the extra encryption and didn’t have the bricking issue post flash. Opening/editing even the new files will apply the custom VFT encryption, so other tuners/software companies can’t use other tools to read your custom files

    Hope that helps.

There are 2 versions i se so far . One posted by JustDSM 9/22/2023, the other one I got from kdmax folks is 11/30/2023.
I did the upgrade to 1.7.5 1.5 month ago and had 8/27/23 version.

The 04B04 dated 8/27/23 from 1.7.5 was the version that got me.

That’s good. Mine were made back in April, so sounds like I won’t have an issue. Thank you for confirming.
