Maybe another dumb question, is there a brighter headlight bulb I can buy for my 2014 taco. Without modifying anything?

A few mods here and there and counting....
Either the ultimate headlight upgrade(wiring and new bulbs) or retrofit.

I didn't want to change the DOT certified correctly engineered OEM headlight assembly, or any wiring. I replaced both lamps with Volsa H4 + 100's http://store.candlepower.com/64205.html. halogen, big increase in light output, correct cutoff, correct color, correct fitment, not melting anything, not blinding oncoming traffic, road legal.
Exact replacement for the Osram 70/65w Hyper H4 bulb, which is no longer available.

Look at the ultimate headlight link and the Volsa bulbs. Please, please do NOT go with an HID kit. You'll be blinding other drivers because they scatter the light.

If I could, I'd pull everyone that runs those over and give them a ticket and make them go for a safety inspection before they could drive the vehicle on the street again...

Read the Ultimate Headlight upgrade article carefully, and you'll learn a lot about why all the 'throw HID' or 'throw LEDs' in there are wrong.

Way more than enough light for legal speed road driving.

For off road use, if its not enough, start shopping auxiliary lighting options.

Get some Philips Vision Plus +60’s on Amazon. Or the +100’s. The 100’s are slightly brighter (imperceptibly so) but won’t last as long as the 60’s. But the 60’s are plenty bright.

    Bulb is a 9003.

I purchased Osram Nightbreaker bulbs. They were a nice improvement.

Yes. There is a wide range of bulbs you can buy for your truck. Go to the store and see the variety.
Keep in mind the brighter you go, the shorter lifespan the bulb will have.

One should also remember that all incandescent bulbs dim over time until they finally burn out. Just about any "new" bulb will therefor be brighter - even if you buy a new set of the exact same bulb you're replacing. Also beware bulbs that claim to be xxx% brighter than stock - for the exact same reason.

Hella H4 55/100 watt halogens and a dedicated headlight relay with a fuse protected 12ga power lead direct from the battery. Go with ceramic aftermarket headlight plugs, too.

These bulbs will not last as long as a 55/60 watt bulb, but they are the brightest halogen bulb you are likely to find. Note the modifier "likely" as Hella has some 135 watt bulbs but don't bother looking for them at your FLAPS.

With any H4 LED or xenon HID replacement bulb you MUST pay careful attention to headlight pattern, especially low beam cutoff. Some LED bulbs with shields below the emitters will come pretty close but none I've seen replicate the cutoff of a halogen bulb.
