    Thanks for the informative post.

I wasn't trying to fit bulbs for the turn signals in my application. But I'm sure it'll help someone else...

Yeah, I noticed you were talking about other types of LEDs, I just figured give out what I know just in case you were thinking of other LEDs in the future. I learned the hard way on the relay. Ordered the one they SAID was the right one for my truck, and it wasn't.

    They don't fit.

I did essentially what XXXX did and am very hapy with the additional light although mine are more directed to fill in the rear corners. I used waterproof lights and had no issues tying into the stock back-up wiring. Got the lights on Amazon.

I have done other bulb swaps (headlight HID and backup LED) and am now looking to replace the brake light bulbs and the front daytime running light bulbs with LEDs.

Do I need CAN-Bus bulbs for either in a 2013 Tacoma?

I believe the front daytime running lights are 4157 and the rear brake lights are 3157 (at least according to www.superbrightleds.com). SuperBrightLEDS.com recommends 3157 CAN bulbs for both.

Current running lights are "yellow" in front so I was going with amber.

    Red for brake lights?

    Thanks!

You may want to ask this question in the 2nd gen or lighting section of this forum. This is the 1st gen section.

I believe you'll want to order the CAN-BUS bulbs.

Would you happen to know what kind of LEDs I need for my 01 Tacoma? My lights are pretty bright, but I want something a little more modern.

I switched to leds too, it's definitely brighter just doesn't emit light as far, not that it matters much.

Anyone have any info on 01-04 brake/tail light leds? As stated a few posts back, the 1157-x26-CBT's from SUPERBRIGHTLEDS DO NOT FIT!

I'm using 55-watt Halogen bulbs. Fits in stock housing and twice as bright. I don't remember the brand. Got it at a chain parts house.
