Hikaris are the best of the ones he has tested, but there are a lot more options out there he hasn't tested. I also did a thread on the S-V.4, which he has not tested yet. I found the measurements of the chip to be closer to center than even the Hikaris (although admitted my measurements could have room for error). I've never once been flashed and never had to aim them and have a much better light output than stock. That's important to me particularly because of my long commute and the frequency of deer where I live. You have to remember, there is also much more to the lights than lumens. Beam pattern, glare, and even spectrum of light in a given environment play a huge factor. But if you're having to re-aim your headlight after a simple bulb change, that's a huge red-flag that there are issues with your bulbs compared to the intended design.

^^^^ This. Also would like to be able to run stronger high beams. Did this in the 2nd gen w/o going to a light bar but almost needed it on the roads with lots of elk, dear, fox, bear, etc.

I tend to use my light-bar with my high beams when necessary.

Made a video about the auxbeams if it helps anyone.

Anyone have a side by side video of pre 2020 stock headlight comparison to the O.E.M. LED's ?

One of the reasons why halogens get such a bad rap, as outlined in the other thread, is that car companies install as low-wattage of a bulb as possible in order to maximize longevity. I chose to follow the crashnburn80 method and put in a higher powered halogen at the expense of changing it every 1 to 2 years.

It throws a ton of light exactly where its supposed to, which is down the road and not up. Standing outside of the vehicle you can't notice that there's a difference in output, but it makes a huge difference for the driver. It doesn't blind or bleed from its pattern. And its the bulb that the housing was designed for, instead of a bulb that was designed to fit most housings.

The stock OEM LEDs on my 22 are just right.
