I think if more people read the responses from people publicly voting no, then stepped away for a minute and put some thought into it, we would have more people wanting to change their vote to No.

    ^^ This.

Make it fair, if something comes up where that person was going to, and some emergency or hard times come up, then they shouldn't be called out.

Really this would be for the benefit of the vendors on the site. Nothing is stopping them from communicating with one another and kepping a list of their own.
TW could even make a special section for vendor viewing only so they can have a place right here to discuss topics among themselves. ~ Just a thought.

You, and others, make that process sound so simple. Provide me with list of reasons for backing out that are acceptable. Then, let's compare that list to 10 other peoples list. How similar would they be? Who's list do we use to tar and feather someone who backs out?

Maybe we throw them in water and if they float they're a witch and we burn them. If they drown, well they weren't a witch but their also now dead.

Just what I said, emergency or hit by sudden hard times. And I would even say give them 1 free pass or even a couple. if they consitently pull out of GB's then they go on the list.

What about vendor quality issues? Sudden changes in lead times? Define emergency for me.

IE: I won't mention a name but there's vendor on here who sells aftermarket bumpers. I have no personal experience with said vendor. TW for the most part thinks this vendor is the best. I decide to purchase a bumper in a GB and put my name on a list. Three weeks later I see not one, but a couple of threads about this vendor and issues are popping up. Double the lead time, poor communication, warped product on arrival etc.

As a consumer I can't change my mind using this new information that I didn't have when I signed up for the GB? Is that an emergency? Probably not, but it's a lot of money ..

How about repeat offenders only are listed? Or does that hardly ever occur?

That is where my idea of the free 1 or 2 passes comes in. If you pm the person your reason for pulling out, then it should be all good. I'm saying this list is for someone does this multi times.

I agree with you, I'm just trying to point out that what you think and what I think doesn't mean poop. Unless there is some vetting process with who does and who doesn't make the list I can't trust 1 OP to be objective, or subjective, enough. I would be ok with a group of people, if it included a couple mods, to make this decision. Not one person.

I like the vendor only area the best yet... let them figure out who they want in their group buys but allow them to have the information from previous group buys. Keeps it out of the eyes of the main forum but also keeps the info around for future reference

The only downside I see to this is many group buys are coordinated by members for the purchase of 3rd party products, not just vendors.

After following this thread , I really have no idea why a vendor would even want to sponsor a group buy

Funny you should say that openly after you gave me names to put on the list.

    hypocrisy at it's best

    This is 100% true.

No one HAS EVER been placed on the list who said they had a family emergency.

Lets also remember this list was here before with NO issues for over a year.

Exactly why I would like to curb the asshatery.
