Don't want to push too off topic even though it's really not off topic, SBR's? If I send a letter to the ATF a month in advance for a trip to either Cali or NY, am I allowed to transport it over, either by plane through a TSA approved chastity belt in the belly of the flying beast and/or by vehicle driving into the state? I know my SBR sits in different realm than a pistol or rifle but can it be done? Shout out to the guys still waiting from last July for their Form 1's and 4's, just got word they're on the second week of July and probably won't get to my late August submission for another month. 28 stampers for 100k+ forms... BS BS BS

I would venture to say that is a big ole no, Papa Bear. Even with the tax stamp, you'd have to modify the fuck out of it. Webbed stock with no thumbhole and 10rd compliant fixed mag conversion. Not even worth it.

Webbed stock, thumbhole, 10rd... my ass. 40rd pmags and D-60 drums everyday except when sighting with 20rders lol And don't even get me started on the new ATF ruling on "braces", please don't spin this the wrong way all but the amount of "tacticool" pistol owners shouldering at the range is as bad as this fidget spinner craze. please for the love of brass, pay up like the rest of us and wait your turn. On the opposite end of that, congrats to 2A supporters for finding another way around things... again...

The main problem with CA laws, other than violating your 2A rights, and the way they fuck people over, is that their gun laws are often vague and conflict with one another. This will probably answer your question:

Thanks for that but I've got questions, that is the most mixed up mumbo jumbo I've seen in awhile, and mind you, this BS was from 2008. All I got from that was, I can't possess, I can't posses,... I CAN POSSES, I can't posses. To me, 3/4 means I can't bring it over even if I do what the almighty ATF master wants and send them a text a month in advance. Did I read, if I get permission from the Cali DOJ, I can bring it over?

Doubtful, unless it meets the current legislation which requires fixed magazine with ten rds and a non adjustable stock with no pistol grip. As fucked as that is for current AR owners, that is the law. If you don't meet that criteria with a non registered "assault weapon", I believe they classify that as a felony. Keep in mind that is standard 16" barrel rifles. Who the fuck knows with SBR rifles in Cali.

Correct, 'assault weapons' can not be possessed unless made featureless or registered with the DOJ. Im assuming the SBR youre talking about is an AR. If so, even if you have permission for the <16" barrel on the rifle, you still need to make the mag fixed or go featureless to make it CA legal.

The thing is people that own a regular AR15 have until 2018 to register them with the CA DOJ or they face being a FELON for their possession. The best part, the CA DOJ has not began full implementation of AW registries! So you can not even register your AW to be in compliance. The state is either going to have to extend this deadline or declare that you are a felon if you do not convert your AR15 to featureless. Thanks California.

What is the purpose of you bringing it out here anyway? If its just to bring and store, then how you handle it would be different if you were going to be using it in a competition. Im not saying to do anything, but there are things you do and dont speak of publicly.
