Why would you apply armor all prior to the plasti-dip?

the fender with plasti-dip has only plasti-dip on it.

i've heard good things about 303, never tried it though. a truck that is only 5 months old will probably have better looking fenders than my 10 year old...125,xxx mile truck

Mine needs a wash, bad. I should get to it this weekend, and have look at how the 303 is holding up since January and a lot of rain. Looks OK through a layer of dust, though.

Clearly...I think lol, the second pic looked the best to me, the heat gun and armor all method. What would that method be...? lol :D

A simple effective method for return graying plastic back to black is SEM paint. I say paint - but it does not require the 'prep' of traditional paint.

    http://semproducts.com/Catalog.asp?prod=133

I use this on my late 80s/early90s Hondas. Works well - keeps the texture and require very little prep - basically a quick thorough wash.

A body shop guy showed it to me.

got another wash and wax in today after a few weeks of initial fender cleaning. looks like i'm just gonna use the rest of my mother's back to black then plasti-dip all of them

that seemed to be the most effective method for keeping them looking new.

    enjoy

I just took about 10 minutes with a Magic Eraser on my 01 Prerunner flares and i have to say, i am thoroughly impressed! The Eraser has to be dusted off after every few minutes, but as long as you keep rubbing with a relatively clean section, or a new eraser, it works wonders. Very noticeable difference right away.

Someone else mentioned using some sort of clear coat application after the eraser to help prolong the shine, as well.

My truck is new so my plastic is still looking pretty good. I just wash them with spray with aerospace protective. The spray does a great job of keeping stuff from really sticking to the fenders if you use it every 4 weeks. I apply it when I wax the truck.
