I vastly prefer living in Victoria to living in the north.

4 gas stations in town, 3 have the same owner, no competition and prices suck. When the border was open I could be buying my gas state side ten minutes after leaving home.

Yeah that warm spell just sucked the life outta the winter haha. I was in Jasper skiing Marmot when the warm spell kicked in and it was -11 on the mountain so perfect weather for boarding. Not to mention a fresh day of powder.

all forestry roads can be downloaded from the BC Gov website in KLM (google earth) format. You can select individual map sheets. The data is updated daily.

Hey friends, I'm planning on traveling up there to do the Dempster Highway this summer. This is probably a dumb question but do y'all think I'd get mercilessly hassled for my tinted windows in BC?

If you were local, yes. Passing through, doubt it. Your laws are different, and that has to be accounted for.

Once north of Kamloops I can't imagine an issue unless you are stopped for some other infraction and give some attitude.

So short answer is... you PROBABLY won't be hassled with your out-of-province plates. But if a true-grit traffic cop is out and about, they can provide a ticket as you are required to abide by traffic laws regardless of the jurisdiction you are in.

For example, if you do 120KM/h in an 80 KM/h zone, you will likely be "hassled" lol. Because exceeding the speed is against the law. Window Tint is a regulation (I think) but but the regulation is still part of BC's Motor Vehicle Act; you may still be "asked" or "spoken to" regarding them. But like others have said... be calm, humble and understanding; and it's not an overly likely issue to have. IMO

Anyone in the Lower Mainland area have the Overlander Tune onboard their Taco?

At 23K my Taco has begun to dreadfully run like so many Tacomaworld people say.

although; hearing that the Overlander Tune is “newer; possibly better for all-around driving” than the KDMax.

    anyone?

There seems to be so many tunes, and most are definitely aimed towards the Auto trucks... I must admit I am skeptical about some of the claims... there are lots of modified trucks out there... I saw several driving out to Maple Ridge and back to Vancouver, so someone might have it.

In the mean time my post is a bump to hopefully give more exposure.

    Yah thanks for the bump.

I guess the reality is they the throttle/transmission response and performance are bizarre.

My old ‘95 4Runner drove like you’d expect. Press the gas pedal and away it went.

Next vehicle will maybe have to be a 4Runner again.

My truck was tuned with the OTT tune by Yotatune back in March. I don't have anything other than stock to compare it to, nor do I frequently shitkick the truck but overall it seems to behave nicely with less random shifting. I'd say it pulls up hills nicely, even at lower RPMs, and no longer does the shifting where it feels like the truck gets lost in thought and you wonder if it stalled or something. If I lay into the throttle it really seems to come alive, but still no racecar.
