How funny, we have both been commenting on the same thread and run into each other at a gas station!

Having seen your truck today, I don't know if it's "bro" or not, but it looked awesome! :mudding:

I don't see anything wrong with working hard for what he wants.

You seem slightly jealous that he's 1. a doctor and 2. can afford to do as he pleases. Do keep in mind that the guy went through 10+ years of schooling/residency/fellowship to earn his degree.

Not everyone buys a Jeep so they can go to Moab every year - if the guy can afford it who really cares what he does with it?

that cost 200 bucks or so

now, Rapha is a bunch of crap which is way overpriced for the rich
posers. everyone I ever rode with who wore rapha really was a prick
and also high maintenance...more money than brains or ability

If you met this guy for 2 seconds you would know exactly what I'm talking about. I know a lot of doctors, most of them are pretty down to earth, they have sensible cars, they live in regular houses; they are still rich as hell but don't necessarily feel the need to show it off. Once in a while you get one who is hell bent on showing off how super rich and awesome he is, and that's who this guy is. Always passivly bragging about some new car or some crazy vacation to fiji. Even the other doctors make fun of him. When he was showing off his audi rs6 one of the other docs was like "I'll take an altima and keep the change".

Maybe where you live, but here in SoCal I know a few guys with $50k+ invested in their various road bike, cross country and downhill mountain bikes. I have seen these jerseys for sale here for big $$$. You are literally paying to have the coolest logos from those companies. It's fine, and it may be cool to them, but the irony is funny to me. The point of wearing company logos is if they sponsor YOU.

When someone buys a single component for their bike like a $5k carbon fiber frame, I guess it's not that big of a deal to spend a few more $$$ on a shirt to wear while riding it. We all have our hobbies..

Maybe they are jealous also? Wouldn't surprise me that most of those Dr's are over spent like most people. lets say you have a 100k house with a 1 k payment well he has a 1 mil house 10k payment. Maybe the guy with all the toys is single and was smart with his money an got all his shit payed? I see it all the time with my work its the rich people that are the cheap asses.

Nah, his cars are leases, he trades them in and gets new ones all the time. I think it's the opposite, the ones that are smart with their money are driving like camrys. Regardless of how much money you make (besides like Bill Gates and those guys) blowing a lot of money on a new car every year is never really a smart investment, and I think a lot of the more seasoned rich people know that. This dude is young, I'm pretty sure he is married with kids though. I'm sure when his kids are older and trying to go to college he's not gonna be gettin new cars on a whim. He did mention that his wife wasn't real happy when he came home with the jeep, haha.
Also, doctors in general are kind of stereotyped as being snooty a-holes. Most of them aren't, but I think once in a while when we do get a doc who is a douche, the other doctors get kind of offended because it just perpetuates that stereotype. And honestly the ones that aren't showing off probably have more money because they saved like $70k buying an accord instead of a porsche.
