I called every local dealer to see if they would provide a loaner before the tow got there. Not a single one said they would do it. When I bought the vehicle, one of the "perks" was a free loaner during warranty work. That, apparently was a lie.

In writing in your warranty papers? It should be. If so, call the GM and tell him you are getting the run around. Because no one has looked at it yet, they can't 'determine' if it's warranty work or you abused it by not using Toyota Care. (I'm serious. It's nuts, but I bet that's what it is)

Or was the loaner salesman talk? If salesman, ask the salesman why he lied. In front of his boss. And other customers. Nicely of course, but with enough volume to be heard clearly.

Geez. Post 3, 5 & 6 all had that.......... Should we become service writers? :anonymous:

Insist on the trans fluid check, tell them you want to know how much they add.

Insist on the trans TSB being performed while it's there too.

    I dig it.

Yea, it's not lush. But if it does what you need it to for a vehicle, it's a great choice.

Look at it this way. You saved $2k of instant depreciation not buying new. That will do a lot of updating/repair/baseline maintenance on your ride.

And your insurance will be silly cheap by comparison.

I don't think I'm capable of pulling that off, however, I have lost a fair amount of confidence in this truck

It's actually quite easy. Call, tell them what happened and ask how a brand new toyota truck could leave you stranded on the road. Your confidence in the truck has been shattered, ask what they do to mitigate concerns like that. Ask how you should be confident enough to keep the truck and not trade it in for another manufacturer.

Call multiple times if you need to, but I don't think you'll have to.
