I’ll be in Newton for a bit then Dorchester for work tomorrow if that doesn’t work out with the other member. But worse comes to worse swing by a dealer they may very well give you one for free. If you explain what happened. At the very least I’m sure they’d let you use it.

Let me know how much it costs, I'll send you the fee
I don't think it's rusted, only been a week since I last used it, but who knows.

Yeah, I'll try that, still need some kind of tool, lol.

Oof, what an expensive mistake I made! Time to part out!

    Yes, I think so.

I work in Braintree, so it's a bit out of your way though, I don't want people going out of their way just for a spare tire, lol.

Take it to your local America’s tire that way they can lower it for you and keep it on the bed of your truck while source a new one or McGyver something.

I hear ya just figured I’d offer in case you were near by. That does suck, ive noticed when I have my spare tightened all the way up the spare tool seems a little weak. I will have to keep this in mind so I don’t end up in the same situation. Atleast you weren’t on the side of the pike with a flat when that happened. Best of luck!

Yeah, might be a good idea to not make it super tight when its cold, I think the heat expanded it enough to cause it to get super stuck.

Harbor freight pry bar works. Did that to a Tacoma that lost the spare tire rod.

I feel like it won't have enough torque, gonna need something with a 90 degree on it to crank on it.

I got the pry bar with a square bar shape and put vice grips and turned.

Make sure the pry bar is not the curved end but the flat end and make sure it’s long enough.

I just carry the spare flat in the bed. It's heavy enough that it hasn't shifted even a tiny bit.

Not the way I drive! But in all honesty, I like the free space in the bed.

They didn't have a flat one, so I had to get a curved one. I was able to make it a quarter turn, but then I got the pry bar stuck. Would you happen to have a link for the actual flat pry bar?
that price would still beat the crappy OEM hook tool.
