Hey all, broke my touchscreen on a camping trip in my 2013 Tacoma 4cyl 4x4, the screen appears to be ok, but the digitizer is unresponsive, I’m older gent 40and stock radio/ features are
Fine with me, not opposed to an inexpensive aftermarket solution, I
    Am technically savvy to
An extent just looking for the easiest way to
    Fix this thanks for your
    Input!

You could try and find a replacement off of eBay or from a wreck, but I would just pick a simple replacement from Crutchfield. Good excuse to get something a little better.

I agree with the above Crutchfield will guide you and advise you through the entire process. Provides free instruction, everything you will need to install the stereo and phone assistance during the installation. Also after install support.

You can probably find a stock one for free on here that someone is just trying to get out of their garage.

My choice is Crutchfield. Simple plug and play and great customer support.

I had a similar cracked screen. It can be replaced. Depending on how hands your are. Check out OPUradio.com this is where I bought the exact screen you need, since I too have the fat knob radio. If I remember correctly it cost me around $80.

Agree with the Crutchfield suggestions. They can take the guesswork out of finding stereos that are compatible with steering wheel controls, BT, etc.. along with required adapters and harnesses. Great tech support during and after purchase.

Thanks for all the input, if replacing the digitizer is the easiest and cheapest route I’d prefer to do that, I did some looking on Crutchfield and they have some nice units, but is it more a time sink than replacing the digitizer? If so how much longer? Thanks

I put a Pioneer NEX unit in mine. It's got carplay and I would honestly say it is one of the best upgrades I have done to my truck.

Not long at all if you have some skills. I can remove the old and install the new stereo in the Tacoma or a Matrix in about an hour.
