Broken AC button

Anyone every have the ac speed button just break on them? Mines out of nowhere just started to free spin. Is it a fixable item or do I need to look at getting a new climate control panel?

 

This should be covered under warranty. Call your local dealership.

 

That would be great but I bought the truck as a rebuilt with 10k miles on it for $18k so no warranty.

 

Is rebuilt the current word for salvage title? And once salvaged, your VIN is flagged to not accept warranty work?

They aren't sold separately, so you might want to attempt to fix it yourself.

Replacement panels are expensive.

From what I’ve been told by my local dmv, Salvage is salvage. Rebuilt means it’s gone through a certified inspection by the state(NC) so that it is road legal. I intend to do more research both on the title part and if I still have a warranty.

 

I also already took apart the dash and climate control and fixed the issue. The knob some how pushed out just enough so that the retaining clips wouldn’t keep it seated correct and it was missing the contact points that allow it to go left or right.
