I need to repair a broken cam tab on my wrecked Taco. It was bent and chipped before the accident and the previous owner did an OK job bending it back. This time I fear It might not be able to be repaired so easily....

I think I'd like to get them all of the tabs reinforced like I've seen where they weld a bead behind the tab.

Can I get just one new bracket from Toyota welded in the old ones place? (couldn't find the part# on the website)

    or...

I've seen the Total Chaos Cam Tab Gasset sets for sale. Is this the way to go? Replace all the tabs?

I'm no welder so it's something I'm gonna have to get done. I think I might have a guy to do it but I'd like to know what to ask for before I take it to him. Chances are he's not familiar with reinforcing the Cam Tabs but we'll see. It seems pretty straight forward considering I can get the lower control arm off. I had it aligned a year ago so I think I should be good to go.

How much time should I expect to be charged for this welding?

Let me know what you'd do if your were faced with this.

Can't get the photos off my phone today......Sorry......Thanks

    Marlin Crawler reinforcements
    Total Chaos cam tabs
Both of these are meant to go on an undamaged part

If it’s damaged your options for proper repair are total replacement in the way of custom Fab welding or JDFab LCA pivots

If you know someone with a welder and a little scrap metal, you could make and install your own.
Heck, if you were near me, I'd do it for you.
How far are you from southern Indiana.
The stock tabs with a weld bead behind them are plenty strong for most of us here.

I do know a guy but I haven't asked him yet. I'm in Northern Illinois so maybe that could happen. I don't plan to do any serious wheeling. I use it as a daily but I'd like them to be tough and reinforced. That'd be sweet. I'll dm you.

pics showed up in my email finally....sorry about the quality....

It's hard to tell but it's flatted out now where as before there was something for it to but up against.

    Thanks y'all!

Hopefully the bolts aren’t siezed. Control arms could be worn out too.

looks like your cam tabs flattened.
You could cut them off then weld on new stronger TC cam tabs.
Or bend them back and lay a bead.

Marlin reinforcements might fit added to the TC tabs.
All of this is relatively cheap compared to pivots.
And makes sense to do on a known weak point.

never makes sense to me when trucks get $7k suspension on stock tabs/mounts like building a house on foundation of styrofoam.

Get the total chaos you’ll drill and chisel the old ones off and it’ll all be new material.
