Does the picture I posted of the coolant sealant off eBay look legit? Idk how they could fake or counterfeit those but…

Yes I have bought Toyota and Mazda parts multiple times from them and it’s 100% oem parts and the shipping is very fast.

    Yeah.
They can fake just about anything these days, but yeah, not sure why anyone would try to fake something so obscure and low-volume. I would not worry too much about it. I'd worry more about high-volume things like filters and spark plugs, or things that are used across multiple vehicles like fuel injectors.

I also checked out PartSouq, and they seem legit. They have all the same parts diagrams you see on Toyota dealer sites.

Yeah seems like it’d be a lot of trouble and effort to fake the sealant. Plus it seems to have the oem packaging

Anyone know about the “valve cover bolt seals” that come with these gaskets. Are they just extra incase you need them or are they reccomended to be changed when you do the seals? Also the one from AutoZone seems to have a few more seals, anyone know what they are for? The description isn’t too descriptive…

Are these little cracks an issue? They just seem like surface cracks

i remember when the keys fit into a groove cut into the crank and the pulley keyway just slid on over the key. guessing that's not the case these days. get a new pulley and weld it on the end of the crank and then put the bolt in and tighten it up against the welds.....after you get new front seal. i would do that and drive it until motor needs replacing for other reasons. you could grind the welds to get pulley off the crank if need be also.

It isn't a matter of being clean. It usually develops a leak at the shaft seal and is shown by the crust at the weep tell tell hole. Just like you have there.

Get a new one or plan on going back in soon.

    it’s supposed to.
Doesn’t look clean on the outside.
You already have it out. The bearing has miles and age.

Does anyone know what o rings behind the timing cover should be replaced? There’s this felpro kit that has a couple of o rings plus the timing cover gasket and front main seal. Are these all I need or are there others I should get? I can’t find a whole lotta info on it

    Yeah.
According to the Fel-Pro site, that kit has a LOT of applications across multiple engines (3.0,3.5,4.0,4.6,5.0). It's possible that all those parts aren't needed for every application, but you are correct that information is spotty. I'd try to find an OEM parts diagram that shows the seals.

Or, better yet, someone who has done this specific job could chime in.
