About a month or so ago, I went to close my driver's door and heard a loud pop. I look in the door jam and found my door check/stop had broken Clean off the mounts. (Pics below) I bought a new check as the old one seems pretty worn out, but I need to find a way to mount it in the door.
Welding is what I think is the best solution without replacing the whole door, but I figured I'd post here to tap the community knowledge for suggestions.

Also something to look for on your taco or one you are considering purchasing

I would price a couple Boneyards and look for a door if you weld that you never know what kind of issues you’ll have down the road if it ain’t welding in perfect

I ended up living with it for a while until I just couldn't ignore the inconvenience anymore. I decided to Dremel out the old broken metal and wedged the good remaining door skin in-between 1/4" fender washers. I ended up miss placing a nut so I used a wingnut. Not a pretty fix but nobody sees it and it works well now

    Do what you gotta do

The inner door metal is annoyingly thin. I've seen Sequoia door checks rip out before
