Watching one now. It is just the mechanism on the door handle that needs to be cleaned?

I cleaned out the lock itself as well. I think I just sprayed some brake cleaner into the hole on the side of the door where it contacts the b-pillar. After that I shot some silicon lube in there.

The latch, the part that actually holds the door closed. The handle pulls a rod that is attached to the latch. It's mostly made of metal. I'd take a picture, but my truck is 150 miles away at the moment.

I ended up spraying all the moving parts that were connected to the movement of the outside door handle with silicone lube. Not only does the door open easier, it closes easier too! It used to always get stuck in the cracked open position if you didn’t close it hard enough.

This is what I did with mine as well, I used PB blaster and then silicon spray. I really hated when it got stuck half open.

Old thread but I just fixed this again. Looked at the handle on the passenger side and as the metal lever on the back moves down when opening the door it rubs the plastic and causes a lot of resistance. Eventually the plastic handle will break from the repeated stress. You can take a dremel tool and shave down the plastic a little where is rubs and that will eliminate that point of stress. Hopefully no more stress cracked handles.
