y Rear Drive Shaft had broke. I’m extremely curious to get your guys opinion on this. My Tacoma only has 42k miles and is well taken care of. I do have 2.5in icon lift and 285/75/17 Ko2 on my truck, could that possibly be be the issue???

Assume your driveshaft side of the yoke is fine, other then some scratches, it's cheap to fix. Without the model/trim speicifics, the U-joint with yoke flange is listed at $116.

You should check the drive line, mainly pinion angle.

Yes, if you are sure the other halve(part of the actual drive shaft is still in good shape). The other halve yoke flange (attached to the pinion), is broken, can be replaced by itself.

Don't just junk it. Any competent axle shop can lob it off and reweld a yoke on the shaft. You may lose 1/2", but the slip yoke has more than enough length to compensate it. At lease you will have a good spare.

I broke a drive shaft while offroading last year. I was able to find a replacement at a local auto salvage place for under 200.

Did you ever notice a weird squeak when moving very slowly in a parking lot? That looks like the standard u joint ran out of grease and seized then broke kinda break

Don’t think that’s a very common problem, even for lift and large tires, but those factors probably did contribute. Stress on the shaft comes from the load that taller gears (stock) and larger tires create together - meaning stock gears and large tires are not a good combo for a driveshaft, because you have to apply a lot more torque to the shaft to get the vehicle moving. And it also could have just been a part that didn’t hold up as well as it should have. Hard to say.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
What year did they delete the grease fittings? I was dismayed they were absent on my 21.
