I don't see the RO invoice where the warranty was denied to the OP by either TOYOTA or the dealer. i would need to see what the written reason was for denial.
All I have seen so far is a couple pictures, no video of the under or over carriage of the vehicle in question, I won't be jumping to conclusions without concrete evidence.

It's up to the OP to prove his case IMO.

I don't know should I stop plowing snow with mine? I guess I could just shovel my 1500' driveway. Will maybe if nothing else I guess I'll stop using low range wouldn't want to have something like that happen.

Had an old 2WD Dodge one ton dually diesel other than my Supra it was the most useless thing I ever owned in the snow it got parked for the winter. However the town I live in resembles that remark except there is no attempt to hide them!

Hey bud. Sorry that happened. That sucks. My gut would be sick after finding out that broke on my truck. Hopefully you have another ride to get along with. Time to get out the wrenches and start wrenching.

Maybe the the guy did do something wrong . I think Toyota can afford to fix it ---- it's still under warranty . It might have been a defective part . Dealers have way of taking your money and pissing you off at the same time .

It happens... I've seen a few broken axle tubes in Jeeps (as well as grenaded transfer cases) as well. Hell, on our last fall run a friend in a jeep JK caught the side of a sandy hill; didn't "look" all that bad as it happened, looks like just enough to bring the jeep to a sudden stop... but... it took out his steering knuckle, sector shaft, broken axle tube, rear driveshaft blew and also put a hole in his transmission pan.

Could have been a perfect storm of a wheel finding sudden traction while under high torque (highly plausible that it just hit a solid section of frozen solid/dense snow); could have been stress from a sudden forceful drop; could have been a flaw in the CV shaft that caused it to fail under heavy load (and taking the diff out with it).

Add torque, plus forward motion, plus sudden stop... and carnage can occur no matter what you drive.

I'd consider this to probably fall more under the realm of insurance claim rather than warranty.
