Good point. For sure SAS is less complicated, and more robust. My point is that you can bust your front end with wheels spin no matter what the suspension is.

Well I’m running 1.75” in the front of lift and the standard Dakar lift in the rear. Think I still need it? These are my CVs with the diff drop in.

Definitely do not need a diff drop, those boots look fine.

General rule is if you can slide a piece of paper between the fins of the boots when it's sitting on even ground, you're good. If the fins are pushed against one another and the paper won't fit, you're going to be blowing boots in no time.

So taking the diff drop out will keep the angles within a necessary range?

Oh I didn't realize you had a diff drop in already...judging by how those boots look I'm sure you could remove it and they'd still be fine. Granted I have an 04, but when I installed my diff drop I saw zero change in my boots.

That said, if you already have it installed I wouldn't worry about it...just leave it in. They don't really harm anything unless it's preventing you from running a certain skid plate or something. I usually just advise people not to install them because I don't think they're worth the trouble, even though they're easy to install. If your boots rub then you need to lower your lift, and/or get high angle CV boots or do the boot slide mod.

$25.00 DD, will cause $1000s in damage. Good luck with that crap.

diff drops are a highly debated topic on here so you'll probably get someone telling you to take it out immediately and others agreeing that it's no big deal. I've had mine in for over a year and no issues, in hindsight I wouldn't have put it in but it's not hurting anything being there so I just leave it in.

I'd trust a Toyota 8" axle over the front Dana 30 (or M186 being used now) of a Jeep any day. If we're talking a Dana 60 or AAM 9.25" axle, that's a different story...

It looks okay to me. The inner boot has two fins that are close but looks like they clear each other. As long as you can slide a piece of paper through you should be fine. Boots are going to rub no matter what when your articulating the front end offroad, it's when you're driving around day to day that you don't want that happening.

Lol thanks. My lift is only 1.75” with about 1” of threads in the preload. My skid plate is about 1/2” from the diff arms.

I could just take it out and drive a bit and put them back in if they seem to angled right?

Not hard to take out/out in right? Can just use same bolts with or without spacer?
